Ruben Plazier (1998) studeert aan het conservatorium van Rotterdam bij Stéphane De May, aan de Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Parijs bij Jean-Bernard Pommier en de AMA Academy in Beziers. In 2013 kreeg hij lessen van Wibi Soerjadi en startte hetzelfde jaar op 14 jarige leeftijd aan het conservatorium van Rotterdam bij Stéphane De May. Ruben won verschillende prijzen door de jaren heen waaronder de internationale FestiVal d’Anniviers Prijs in Zwitserland, eerste prijs tijdens het Archipel Muziek Concours, Concerto Competition in Nederland, en meer.
Als solist trad Ruben onder andere op met het Orchestre du Conservatoire Royal de Liège, Symfonieorkest Rijnmond, Orkest van Utrecht, Orchestre du FestiVal d’Anniviers. Een van de hoogtepunten van Ruben’s carrière was de uitnodiging om op te treden met het Lets Radiokoor onder leiding van Sigvards Klava. Ruben ontving masterclasses van gerenommeerde pianisten als: Jean-Bernard Pommier, Angela Hewitt, Frank Braley, Wibi Soerjadi, and Håkon Austbø. Zijn masterclasses met Jean-Bernard Pommeir resulteerden in een uitnodiging om bij hem te studeren aan de Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Parijs waar hij een studiebeurs van de school ontving. Ruben speelde in alle belangrijke zalen van Nederland zoals: Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen Rotterdam, Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven en meer.

In 2013 he took lessons from Wibi Soerjadi and started the same year at the age of 14 at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Stéphane De May. Ruben has won several prizes over the years, including the international FestiVal d’Anniviers Prize in Switzerland, first prize at the Archipel Music Competition, Concerto Competition in the Netherlands, and more.
As a soloist, Ruben has performed with the Orchestre du Conservatoire Royal de Liège, Symphony Orchestra Rijnmond, Orchestra of Utrecht, Orchestre du FestiVal d’Anniviers, among others. One of the highlights of Ruben’s career was the invitation to perform with the Latvian Radio Choir conducted by Sigvards Klava. Ruben has received master classes from renowned pianists such as: Jean-Bernard Pommier, Angela Hewitt, Frank Braley, Wibi Soerjadi, and Håkon Austbø. His masterclasses with Jean-Bernard Pommeir resulted in an invitation to study with him at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris where he received a scholarship from the school. Ruben played in all major halls in the Netherlands such as: The Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen Rotterdam, Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven and more.
