    Sarah Vaderpijpen is geboren in 2004 en begon op vijfjarige leeftijd met vioollessen aan de Academie voor Podiumkunsten te Aalst. Sarah volgde er ook piano en ensemble bij Catharina Leijnse. In juni 2016 werd ze beloond met de ‘prijs van de directeur’ van de academie.

    Vanaf september 2017 krijgt Sarah vioolles van Erik Sluys aan de muziekacademie van Anderlecht, en ze volgde al meerdere masterclasses bij Kristie Su, Yossif Ivanov, Aya Muraki en Tatiana Samouil.

    In 2015 was Sarah soliste met het Oost-Vlaams Kamerorkest. In Anderlecht speelt ze mee met het orkest ‘Brussels Sinfonietta’, in het najaar van 2022 was ze er soliste met ‘de Herfst’ van Vivaldi. In 2021 speelde ze mee met Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen (SOV) Young als aanvoerder van de tweede violen. Sinds 2023 speelt ze ook mee met de eerste violen van het Gents Universitair Symfonisch Orkest (GUSO).

    In het voorjaar van 2020 was Sarah laureate in de ‘Vlamo wedstrijd’. In januari 2022 was ze finaliste van het ‘Prinses Christinaconcours Zuid 2’ en behaalde er een tweede prijs. In maart 2022 won ze het ‘Concours de Musique Breughel’ voor strijkers in Flagey te Brussel.

    Sarah speelt ook graag samen met haar broer (piano) en/of zus (viool) en is al meermaals als ‘jong talent’ door het ‘Arte Amanti Kamermuziekfestival’ uitgenodigd.

    Sarah combineert haar muziekopleiding met de studie geneeskunde aan de UGent.


    Sarah Vanderpijpen was born in 2004 and began taking violin lessons at the age of five at the Academy for Performing Arts in Aalst. Sarah also studied piano and ensemble with Catharina Leijnse. In June 2016, she was honored with the academy’s ‘Director’s Award.’ Since September 2017, Sarah has been receiving violin lessons from Erik Sluys at the music academy of Anderlecht. She has participated in several master classes with instructors such as Kristie Su, Yossif Ivanov, Aya Muraki, and Tatiana Samouil.

    In 2015, Sarah served as a soloist with the East Flemish Chamber Orchestra. In Anderlecht, she is a member of the orchestra ‘Brussels Sinfonietta.’ In the autumn of 2022, she performed as a soloist with ‘De Herfst’ by Vivaldi. In 2021, she played with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra (SOV) Young as the leader of the second violins. Since 2023, she has also played with the first violins of the Ghent University Symphonic Orchestra (GUSO).

    In the spring of 2020, Sarah was a laureate in the ‘Vlamo competition.’ In January 2022, she was a finalist at the ‘Princess Christina Competition Zuid 2’ and won the second prize. In March 2022, she won the ‘Concours de Musique Breughel’ for strings at Flagey in Brussels.

    Sarah enjoys playing with her brother (piano) and/or sister (violin) and has been invited several times as a ‘young talent’ to the ‘Arte Amanti chamber music festival.’

    Sarah balances her music education with studying medicine at Ghent University.
