Tom Van Impe is in 2002 geboren en begon piano te spelen toen hij vijf was. Na drie jaar initiatielessen zette hij zijn lessen verder bij Catharina Leijnse aan de Academie voor Podiumkunsten te Aalst. Tot vandaag kan hij nog altijd op haar ervaring en steun rekenen. Sinds 2020 studeert hij in de klas van Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort aan LUCA School of Arts (Campus Lemmens) te Leuven.

Hij deed succesvol mee aan enkele wedstrijden. Zo behaalde hij een gedeelde eerste plaats op de Guy Brodeletwedstrijd en werd hij driemaal laureaat en eenmaal laureaat-finalist van de Cantabile pianowedstrijd. In 2019 kreeg hij het topkunstenstatuut toegewezen.

Hij kreeg verschillende concerten aangeboden door Cantabile en Kamermuziek Jong Vlaanderen.

Ook speelt hij jaarlijks op het Arte Amantifestival als Jong Talent.

Dankzij de internationale zomerstage Piano LAB kreeg hij de kans om les te volgen bij Jura Margulis, Shai Wosner, Lukáš Vondráček, Cyprien Katsaris en Severin Von Eckardstein.

Hij volgde masterclasses bij onder anderen Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Julien Libeer en Joop Celis.

Tom Van Impe (b. 2002) began playing the piano at the age of 5. After three years of introductory lessons, he continued his studies with Catharina Leijnse at the Academy for Performing Arts in Aalst. To this day, he still benefits from her experience and support. Since 2020, he has been studying under Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort at LUCA School of Arts (Campus Lemmens) in Leuven.

He has successfully participated in several competitions. He achieved a shared first place in the Guy Brodelet Competition and was three times a laureate and once a finalist laureate in the Cantabile Piano Competition. In 2019, he was awarded the Top Arts Statute.

He has been offered various concert opportunitie through Cantabile and Chamber Music Young Flanders.

Additionally, he performs annually at the Arte Amanti Festival as a “Young Talent.”

Thanks to the international summer course “Piano LAB,” he had the opportunity to study with renowned pianists such as Jura Margulis, Shai Wosner, Lukáš Vondráček, Cyprien Katsaris, and Severin Von Eckardstein.
