Jiska Lambrecht is in 1997 geboren. Ze is actief als soliste en in verschillende kamermuziekensembles. Sinds 2018 vormt Jiska een muzikaal duo met de Italiaanse pianist Marco Sanna. Ze richtte samen met de Nederlandse celliste Iedje van Wees het Duo Misia op en is eerste violiste van het Turicum Quartet, waarmee ze in 2022 de ‘Kiwanis Musikpreis’ behaalde in Zürich. In 2023 zullen ze optreden samen met het prestigieuze Gringolts Quartet en hun debuut maken in Tonhalle Zürich met muziek van de Japanse componist Toshio Hosokawa.
Jiska is vast lid van Bryggen – Bruges Strings en maakt deel uit van Chaarts Chamber Artists.
Met musici van het ‘Gaia Music Festival’ realiseerde Jiska in december 2022 bij Orchid Classics de cd ‘Legends’ met o.m. het strijkkwintet van Eugène Ysaÿe. In de zomer van 2023 verschijnt bij Linn Records ‘Suite Italienne’. Jonian Ilias Kadesha en Chaarts sloegen de handen in elkaar voor spetterende muziek van Vivaldi, Stravinsky en Giovanni Sollima.
Sinds 2014 is Jiska jaarlijks te gast op het ‘International Chamber Music Festival Arte Amanti’. Ze werd uitgenodigd voor onder andere het ‘Festival van Vlaanderen’, ‘OdeGand’, ‘Walden Festival’, ‘Mizmorim Festival’, ‘International Bartók Seminar’, ‘Aurora Old Ox Music Festival’, ‘Braunwald Festival’, ‘Gaia Music Festival’, ‘VivaCello’ en ‘Boswiler Sommer’. Op het ‘Kaposfest Festival’ speelde ze aan de zijde van István Várdai, Máté Szücs en Júlia Pusker en op ‘Festival Academy Budapest’ musiceerde ze met o.m. José Gallardo, Natalia Lomeiko, Maxim Rysanov, Razvan Popovici en de legendarische Shlomo Mintz.
Ze trad op in België, Nederland, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Engeland, Zwitserland, Oostenrijk, Italië, Spanje, Hongarije, Malta en Rusland in onder meer Bozar, de Singel, Concertgebouw Brugge, Grand Hall en Solti Hall Budapest, Tonhalle Zürich, Yehudi Menuhin Forum Bern, Dom Keulen en het Europees Parlement in Straatsburg.
Jiska begon met viool toen ze zes jaar was en volgde vanaf 2013 les bij Jolente De Maeyer en bij Natasha Boyarsky in Londen, dankzij een topcultuurstatuut. Na haar bacheloropleiding in Antwerpen behaalde ze een master viool solo aan de Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Keulen bij Barnabás Kelemen met grootste onderscheiding. Sinds 2020 vervolmaakt ze zich in Zürich bij Ilya Gringolts. Ze bereidt zich voor op het Solistendiploma en studeert er ook barokviool bij Monika Baer.
Jiska volgde masterclasses bij o.a. Lutsia Ibragimova, Svetlana Makarova, Kristóf Baráti, Erik Schumann, Eszter Perényi, Gordan Nikolic en Hariolf Schlichtig. Ze werkte samen met hedendaagse componisten zoals Jörg Widmann, Michael Jarrell, Yinam Leef en Mathias Coppens.
In 2022-2023 is Jiska artiest in residentie van SWUK Vlaanderen vzw. Jiska is dankbaar voor de steun van SWUK Vlaanderen vzw, en de Zwitserse C. und A. Kupper-Stiftung, Geert und Lore Blanken-Schlemper-Stiftung, Stiftung S. & B. Salzmann en Stiftung StockART.
Jiska Lambrecht was born in 1997. She is active as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles. Since 2018 Jiska forms a musical duo with the Italian pianist Marco Sanna. She founded the Duo Misia together with the Dutch cellist Iedje van Wees and is principal violinist of the Turicum Quartet, with whom she won the ‘Kiwanis Musikpreis’ in Zurich in 2022. In 2023 they will perform together with the prestigious Gringolts Quartet and make their debut in Tonhalle Zurich with music by the Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa.
Jiska is a permanent member of Bryggen – Bruges Strings and is part of Chaarts Chamber Artists.
In December 2022, Jiska recorded the CD ‘Legends’ with musicians from the ‘Gaia Music Festival’ at Orchid Classics, including the string quintet by Eugène Ysaÿe. In the summer of 2023 Linn Records will release ‘Suite Italienne’. Jonian Ilias Kadesha and Chaarts joined forces for dazzling music by Vivaldi, Stravinsky and Giovanni Sollima.
Since 2014, Jiska is an annual guest at the ‘International Chamber Music Festival Arte Amanti’. She has performed in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, England, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Malta and Russia in Bozar, de Singel, Concertgebouw Bruges, Grand Hall and Solti Hall Budapest, Tonhalle Zurich, Yehudi Menuhin, among others Forum Bern, Dom Cologne and the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Jiska started playing the violin when she was six years old and from 2013 took lessons from Jolente De Maeyer and from Natasha Boyarsky in London, thanks to a top culture status. After her bachelor’s degree in Antwerp, she obtained a master’s degree in solo violin at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Barnabás Kelemen with the greatest distinction. Since 2020 she has been perfecting herself in Zurich with Ilya Gringolts. She is preparing for the Soloist Diploma and also studies baroque violin with Monika Baer.
Jiska attended masterclasses with Lutsia Ibragimova, Svetlana Makarova, Kristóf Baráti, Erik Schumann, Eszter Perényi, Gordan Nikolic and Hariolf Schlichtig, among others. She has collaborated with contemporary composers such as Jörg Widmann, Michael Jarrell, Yinam Leef and Mathias Coppens.
