Boris Kusnezow, geboren in Moskou, begon zijn piano opleiding aan de traditierijke Gnessin Academie. Sinds zijn 8 jaar verblijft hij in Duitsland en sloot er zijn studies af bij Prof. Bernd Goetzke in Hannover.
Zijn doorbraak kwam er in 2009 toen hij de Duitse Muziek Competitie Prijs won. Kort daarna debuteerde hij in Carnegie Hall en kreeg daarbij uitmuntende kritiek in de New York Times: “most impressive interpretation”.
Eerste prijzen in internationale competities, een beurs van de bekende Brittish Borletti-Buitoni Trust, studietoelagen van de Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben en de Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes alsook talrijke Cd-opnamen markeren zijn loopbaan als pianist.
Naast zijn optreden als solist kreeg hij een bijzondere passie voor kamermuziek en liedbegeleiding. Intussen speelt Boris Kusnezow over de hele wereld concerten in diverse bezettingen voor kamermuziek en met grote solisten. Boris was reeds 4 jaar te gast in het Arte Amanti Festival met violist Tobias Feldmann en cellist Ivan Karizna, beiden laureaten van de Koningin Elisabeth Wedstrijd. In Duitsland trad hij onder meer op in de Laeishalle Hamburg, in het Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, in het Prinzregententheater en im Gasteig in München en in de Berliner Philharmonie.
Boris Kusnezow woont in Hannover en geeft er les aan de Musikhochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien. Hij is ook een veelgevraagde pianist op grote concours zoals ARD Wettbewerb en vanaf 2019 op de Koningin Elisabeth Wedstrijd.
Boris Kusnezow, born in Moscow, started his piano education at the tradition-rich Gnessin Academy. He has been living in Germany since the age of eight and completed his studies with Prof. Bernd Goetzke in Hanover.

First prizes in international competitions, a scholarship from the well-known Brittish Borletti-Buitoni Trust, study grants from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes as well as numerous CD recordings mark his career as a pianist.
Besides his performance as a soloist, he developed a special passion for chamber music and song accompaniment. In the meantime, Boris Kusnezow plays concerts all over the world in various line-ups for chamber music and with great soloists. Boris has been a guest at the Arte Amanti Festival for 4 years with violinist Tobias Feldmann and cellist Ivan Karizna, both laureates of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. In Germany he has performed at the Laeishalle Hamburg, the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, the Prinzregententheater and im Gasteig in Munich and the Berliner Philharmonie.
Boris Kusnezow lives in Hanover and teaches at the Musikhochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien. He is also a sought-after pianist at major competitions such as ARD Wettbewerb and from 2019 the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
