Christian Plouvier wordt internationaal gerekend tot ’s werelds beste fluitisten. Na zijn studies aan het Conservatorium van Antwerpen specialiseerde hij zich verder bij de franse meesters Alain Marion en Jean-Pierre Rampal. Hij werkte freelance met het Koninklijk Filharmonisch Orkest en de Vlaamse Opera (Antwerpen-Gent).
Doorheen zijn carrière exploreerde hij steeds verschillende muzikale genres, van wereldmuziek tot jazz, naar klassiek en terug. Tijdens zijn reizen speelde hij samen met de meest uiteenlopende muzikanten en instrumenten. Zo speelde hij met de populaire Yen Jiang op de Pipa in China, in Japan aan de zijde van Kayoko Nakagawa en haar Koto, maar ook met de Mugam muzikanten in Baku, Azerbeidzjan en in Florence met het Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.
Naast het podium bouwde Christian Plouvier ook een succesvolle carrière uit als docent die wereldwijd (o.a. in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Turkije, Azerbeidzjan en de Verenigde Staten van Amerika) masterclasses en seminars geeft. Hij zetelt ook regelmatig in de jury van internationale fluitcompetities (Beijing, Bratislava en Taipei).
In de Arabische Emiraten opereerde hij vanuit Dubai en Abu Dhabi, waar hij als eerste fluitist opereerde in het National Symphonic Orchestra en trad hij op met Andrea Bocelli. Onder zijn eigen label in Tokyo, Laura-chan Records, gaf hij verschillende CD’s uit waaronder: Flutissimo, Beyond Borders, Symbiophony en Romantic flute Sonatas.
Christian Plouvier is ook meer dan 25 jaren Miyazawa Flute Artist.

Christian Plouvier is internationally regarded as one of the world’s best flutists. After his studies at the Conservatory of Antwerp, he specialized further with the French masters Alain Marion and Jean-Pierre Rampal. He worked freelance with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Flemish Opera (Antwerp-Ghent).
Throughout his career he has explored different musical genres, from world music to jazz, to classical and back. During his travels he played with the most diverse musicians and instruments. He played with the popular Yen Jiang on the Pipa in China, in Japan alongside Kayoko Nakagawa and her Koto, but also with the Mugam musicians in Baku, Azerbaijan and in Florence with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.
In addition to the stage, Christian Plouvier also built up a successful career as a teacher who gives masterclasses and seminars worldwide (including in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Azerbaijan and the United States of America). He is also a regular member of the jury of international flute competitions (Beijing, Bratislava and Taipei).
