David Poskin begon zijn cellostudies bij Claudine Steenackers op 3-jarige leeftijd. Hij werd op 14-jarige leeftijd toegelaten als jong talent op het Conservatoire de Bruxelles en studeerde bij Didier Poskin, Edmond Baert en Marie Hallynck. Daarna volgde hij regelmatig les bij Walter Grimmer in Zürich, Justus Grimm in Antwerpen en Jeroen Reuling in Brussel. Vanaf 2013 nam hij privéles bij Jerôme Pernoo, Laszlo Fenyö en in 2015-16 studeerde hij aan het AHK Amsterdam bij Dmitri Ferschtman. Tijdens de voorbereiding van wedstrijden werd bij steeds bijgestaan door zijn mentor Leonid Kerbel.
In 2005 won hij de UFAM competition Paris, in 2007 won hij de Concours Edmond Baert (junior categorie). In 2009 behaalde hij een 1e prijs in Oxford en won hij de “Christopher Bunting Scholarship Oxford”. In 2015 won hij de eerste prijs in de “International Young Virtuosi Pipkov Competition” in Sofia en hetzelfde jaar kreeg hij een speciale prijs op een internationale wedstrijd in Malta en werd hij 3de laureaat op de Internationale David Popper Cello Wedstrijd in Boedapest.
Hij volgde masterclasses bij Vladimir Perlin, Walter Grimmer, Alexander Boyarski, Jerôme Pernoo, Ivan Monighetti, Claudio Bohorquez, Laszlo Fenyö, Leonid Kerbel, Alexander Buzlov en Georgi Anichenko.
In 2009 speelde hij als solist het concerto van Khatchatourian in Oxford. Meermaals is hij opgetreden met pianist Luc Devos in diverse festivals, Jonge Solisten Oost-Vlaanderen en talrijke recitals.
David speelt graag kamermuziek met Veronique De Raedemaeker, viool en George Tyriard, piano waarmee hij in 2019 drie concerten speelde in Bonn en in De Bijloke.
Als solist speelde David het concerto van Shostakovitch met het Oost-Vlaams Symfonieorkest en het concerto van Schumann met het Nuove Musiche Orchestra Brussels. In 2017 speelde hij het concerto in D van Haydn met de Arte Amanti Academy en de Rococco Variaties van Tchaikovski met het AMAJ Orkest Gent.
Hij speelde kamermuziek met grote artiesten zoals Lily en Sasha Maisky, Alissa Margulis, Ofer Canetti, Leonid Kerbel, Dasha Moroz, Kristie Su, Gina Beukes, Luc Devos en anderen.
In augustus 2020 gaf David Masterclasses cello en kamermuziek in de Zomerstage Arte Amanti.
Hij bespeelt momenteel een mooie cello die hem ter beschikking werd gesteld door Florian Leonhard Fine Violins London.
David Poskin started his cello studies with Claudine Steenackers at the age of 3. At the age of 14 he was admitted as a young talent to the Conservatoire de Bruxelles and studied with Didier Poskin, Edmond Baert and Marie Hallynck. After that he regularly took lessons with Walter Grimmer in Zurich, Justus Grimm in Antwerp and Jeroen Reuling in Brussels. From 2013 he took private lessons with Jerôme Pernoo, Laszlo Fenyö and in 2015-16 he studied at the AHK Amsterdam with Dmitri Ferschtman. During the preparation of competitions he was always assisted by his mentor Leonid Kerbel.

David likes to play chamber music with Veronique De Raedemaeker, violin and George Tyriard, piano with whom he played three concerts in Bonn and De Bijloke in 2019.
