Dmytro Sukhovienko begon piano te spelen toen hij zeven jaar oud was. Hij ging naar de Kiev Lysenko Special Music School, elf jaar lang, bij Sofia Dobrzhanska. Gedurende vijf intensieve jaren studeerde bij aan het Nationaal Conservatorium van Kiev bij Vsevolod Vorobyov die aan Dmytro zijn diepe passie voor pure interpretatie in de traditie van Felix Blumenfeld heeft overgedragen, hierdoor is Dmytro Sukhovienko één van de laatsten die de grote traditie van de Felix Blumenfeld Piano School voortzet, naast andere beroemde leerlingen zoals Vladimir Horowitz. Sir Yehudy Menuhin gaf hem een beurs om te studeren in Zwitserland. Tijdens zijn studie nam Dmytro Sukhovienko masterclasses bij Paul Badura-Skoda, Barry Douglas, Dmitri Bashkirov, Philippe Entremont, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, evenals privélessen bij een oud-leerling van Niki ta Magaloff en Alexei Golovine. Dmytro Sukhovienko kreeg meer erkenning na zijn deelname aan het Festival Menuhin in Gstaad in 1996. Het jaar daarop won hij de eerste Prijs op de Internationale Muziekwedstrijd in San Bartolomeo in Italië en tweede prijs op het Internationaal Clara Schumann Pianoconcours in Düsseldorf in Duitsland. Dmytro Sukhovienko speelt kamermuziek met, onder andere Pierre Amoyal, Michael Kugel en werkte ook met dirigenten als Dmitry Sitkovetsky, David Josefovitz, Tougan Sokhiev. Na het beluisteren van Dmytro Sukhovienko op de Biarritz Music Festival in 1998, schreef Pierre-Petit in “Le Figaro”: “het is een naam om te onthouden”. Philippe Entremont zei: “Dmytro Sukhovienko is het meest veelbelovend talent dat ik de afgelopen 30 jaar heb gehoord ”. Hij kreeg applaus in prestigieuze concertzalen zoals het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Bozar in Brussel, het Casino in Bern, UNESCO in Parijs. In 2005 werd Dmytro Bösendorfer-artiest. Dat leidde hem naar een briljant debuut in één van de meest prestigieuze muziekzalen in de wereld, het Musikverein van Wenen. Dmytro Sukhovienko nam 6 albums op met werken van Chopin, Kolessa, Prokofiev, Liszt, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Brahms, Scarlatti en Mussorgsky. In 2017 voerde Dmytro met Alissa Margulis de complete vioolsonates van Beethoven uit en vormde hij het Blumenfeld Piano Duo met Aäron Wajnberg. Sinds 2018 geeft hij les aan de Muziekacademie in Sint-Niklaas en is hij gastprofessor aan het Conservatorium van Antwerpen. In 2021 geeft Dmytro les aan de International Summer Academy of Music in Ochsenhausen (Duitsland).
Dmytro Sukhovienko began playing the piano when he was seven years old, attending the Kyiv Lysenko Special Music School, for eleven years with Sofia Dobrzhanska. He studied for five intensive years at the National Kyiv Conservatory with Vsevolod Vorobyov who transmitted to Dmytro his profound passion for pure interpretation in the traditi[1]on of Felix Blumenfeld, thus making Dmytro Sukhovienko one of the last to carry on the gre[1]at tradition of the Felix Blumenfeld Piano School, whose famous attendees included, among others, Vladimir Horowitz. Sir Yehudy Menuhin gave him a scholarship to study in Switzerland. During his studies, Dmytro Sukhovienko took master-classes with Paul Badura-Skoda, Barry Douglas, Dmitri Bashkirov, Philippe Entremont, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, as well as private lessons with a former pupil of Niki[1]ta Magaloff, Alexei Golovine. Dmytro Sukhovienko obtained more recognition after his participation in the Festival Menuhin in Gstaad in 1996. The following year, he won First Prize at the International Music competition in San Bartolomeo in Italy and Second Prize at the International Clara Schumann Piano Competition in Düsseldorf in Germany. Dmytro Sukhovienko plays chamber music with, amongst others Pierre Amoyal, Michael Kugel and also works with conductors such as Dmitry Sitkovetsky, David Josefovitz, Tougan Sokhiev. After listening to Dmytro Sukhovienko at the Biarritz Music festival in 1998, Pierre-Petit wrote in “Le Figaro”: “it is a name to remember”. Philippe Entremont said “Dmytro Sukhovienko is the most promising talent he has heard in the last 30 years”. He has been applauded at prestigious concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Bozar in Brussels, the Casino in Bern, UNESCO in Paris. In 2005 Dmytro became a Bösendorfer artist. That led him to the brilliant debut in one of the most prestigious music halls in the world – the Musikverein of Vienna. Mr. Sukhovienko recorded 6 albums with works by Chopin, Kolessa, Prokofiev, Liszt, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Brahms, Scarlatti and Mussorgsky. In 2017 Dmytro performed with Alissa Margulis the Complete Violin Sonatas by Beethoven and formed the Blumenfeld Piano Duo with Aäron Wajnberg. Since 2018 he teaches at the Music Academy in Sint-Niklaas and is a guest professor at the Antwerp Conservatory. In 2020, Dmytro will teach at the International Summer Academy of Music in Ochsenhausen (Germany).
