Elen Shahinans (°3 maart 2005) is een Armeens-Belgische violiste die op vijfjarige leeftijd begon met vioolspelen. Al twee jaar later, in 2013, behaalde zij eerste prijzen op twee internationale wedstrijden voor jonge violisten: de Renaissance International Competition in Jerevan en het Flame International Concours in Parijs.
Sindsdien ontwikkelde Elen Shahinans zich tot een opvallend jong talent met talrijke onderscheidingen op internationale concoursen. Zo won zij tweede prijzen op de Grumiaux International Competition (Namen, 2016) en de Young Talent Music Competition (Antwerpen, 2017), een eerste prijs op het Concours de Musique Breughel (Brussel, 2018), en een tweede prijs met de speciale onderscheiding Jeune Espoir op het Inter Cordes International Competition in Parijs. In 2019 was zij finalist van het Andrea Postacchini Competition in Fermo, en in 2024 behaalde zij een tweede prijs en de speciale prijs Rose d’Anvers op het Triomphe de l’Art International Music Competition. Datzelfde jaar werd zij Belgisch nationaal finalist van het Eurovision Classical Music Competition for Young Musicians.
Op tienjarige leeftijd maakte Elen haar debuut als soliste met orkest tijdens het Gerpina Music Festival, waar zij optrad met het Piacevole Kamerorkest onder leiding van Luc Dewez. Later volgden concerten met het Archi Arrigoni Kamerorkest o.l.v. Giancarlo Guarino. Ze werd uitgenodigd voor talrijke concerten, festivals en masterclasses, waaronder het Max van der Linden Festival, Rivage Musical, het Menton Music Festival en het Arte Amanti International Chamber Music Festival.
Zij volgde masterclasses bij onder anderen Zakhar Bron, Boris Kushnir, Pavel Vernikov en Svetlana Makarova. In 2020, op vijftienjarige leeftijd, werd Elen toegelaten tot het Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, waar zij studeert bij Tatiana Samouil. In 2021 trad zij op in het Europees Parlement, en in 2023 vertolkte zij het Vioolconcerto van Sibelius met het orkest van het Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel onder leiding van Pierre de Bucy.
Elen Shahinans (born March 3, 2005) is an Armenian-Belgian violinist who began playing the violin at the age of five. Already two years later, in 2013, she won first prize at two international competitions for young violinists: the Renaissance International Competition in Yerevan and the Flame International Concours in Paris.
Since then, Elen Shahinans has distinguished herself as a highly promising young artist, winning numerous prizes at international competitions. At the age of ten, Elen made her orchestral debut as a soloist at the Gerpina Music Festival, performing with the Piacevole Chamber Orchestra under Luc Dewez, followed by concerts with the Archi Arrigoni Chamber Orchestra conducted by Giancarlo Guarino. She has since been invited to perform at numerous concerts and international festivals, including the Max van der Linden International Music Festival, Rivage Musical, the Menton Music Festival, and the Arte Amanti International Chamber Music Festival.
Elen Shahinans has taken part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Zakhar Bron, Boris Kushnir, Pavel Vernikov and Svetlana Makarova. In 2020, at the age of fifteen, she entered the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she studies with Tatiana Samouil. In 2021, she was invited to perform and record at the European Parliament, and in 2023 she performed Sibelius’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Conservatory of Brussels Orchestra under Pierre de Bucy.
