Elen Shahinans is een Armeens-Belgische violiste die geboren werd op 3 maart 2005. Op vijfjarige leeftijd begon ze met vioolspelen en in 2013 werd Elen Shahinans de eerste prijswinnaar van twee internationale vioolwedstrijden, Renaissance International Competition of Young Violinist in Yerevan, Armenië en Flame International Concours for Young Violinists in Parijs.
Als studente nam Elen Shahinans deel aan internationale wedstrijden waaronder tweede prijs in Grumiaux International Competition voor jonge violisten Namen, België, tweede prijs 2016 Young Talent Music Competition Antwerpen, België, in 2017 eerste prijs Concours de Musique Breughel Brussel, België, in 2018 tweede prijs Inter Cordes Concours International en tweede prijs en speciale prijs ‘Jeune Espoir’, Parijs, Frankrijk, in 2018 finalist Andrea Postacchini Competition, Fermo, Italië, in 2019 Triomphe de l’Art International Music Competition, tweedeprijs en speciale prijs ‘Rose d’Anvers’, in 2024 Eurovision Classical Competition voor jonge muzikanten – Belgische nationale finalist, 2024.
Op tienjarige leeftijd nam Elen met succes deel aan het Gerpinct Music Festival voor klassieke muziek en kreeg ze de kans om op te treden als solist met het Piacevole Chamber Orchestra onder leiding van Luc Dewez (België) en later met het Kamerorkest van Arch’ Arrigoni onder leiding van Gooncarlo Guarino (Italië).
Elen Shahinans is als jong talent uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan talrijke concerten, internationale festivals en masterclasses met wereldberoemde docenten, Festival International de Musique Max Van Der Linden in Beauvechain, België, Festival International Rivage Musical in Sant Cast, Frankrijk, 68e Menton Music Festival in Frankrijk, Cote d’Azur en Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Arte Amanti.
Elen volgde masterclasses met docenten als Zakhar Bron in Menton, Frankrijk, Boris Kushnir aan de Schlossakademie in Zschepplin, Duitsland, Pavel Vernikov aan de Kronberg Academie, Duitsland, Pavel Vernikov en Svetlana Makarova aan de Tibor Vargo Music Academy in Sion, Zwitserland, Pavel Vernikov en Svetlana Makarova aan de Verão Classico Academie in Portugal.
In 2020, op vijftienjarige leeftijd, werd Elen Shahinans, als jong talent, studente aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel in de klas van Tatiana Samouil. In 2021 kreeg ze een speciale uitnodiging om op te treden en een audio-opname te maken in het Europees Parlement. In 2023 speelde Elen Shahinans met succes het vioolconcert van Jean Sibelius met het orkest van het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel onder leiding van Pierre de Bucy.
Elen Shahinans is an Armenian-Belgian violinist, born on March 3, 2005. She began playing the violin at the age of five and, by 2013, had already won first prizes in two prestigious international violin competitions: the Renaissance International Competition of Young Violinists in Yerevan, Armenia, and the Flame International Concours for Young Violinists in Paris, France.
As a progressive and dedicated musician, Elen has continued to achieve success in numerous international competitions, including Grumiaux International Competition for Young Violinists – 2nd prize, Namur, Belgium (2016), Young Talent Music Competition – 2nd prize, Antwerp, Belgium (2017), Concours de Musique Breughel – 1st prize, Brussels, Belgium (2018), Inter Cordes Concours International – 2nd prize & Special Prize “Jeune Espoir,” Paris, France (2018), Andrea Postacchini Competition – finalist, Fermo, Italy (2019), Triomphe de l’Art International Music Competition – 2nd prize & Special Prize “Rose d’Anvers” (2024), Eurovision Classical Competition for Young Musicians – Belgian National Finalist (2024).
At the age of 10, Elen participated in the Gerpinct Music Festival for classical music, where she performed as a soloist with the Piacevole Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Luc Dewez (Belgium). She later performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Arch’ Arrigoni under the direction of Gooncarlo Guarino (Italy).
As a rising talent, Elen has been invited to numerous concerts, international festivals, and masterclasses conducted by world-renowned professors. Her notable engagements include:

Pavel Vernikov and Svetlana Makarova at Tibor Varga Music Academy, Sion, Switzerland and at Verão Clássico Academy, Portugal.
In 2020, at the age of 15, Elen was accepted as a student at the Brussels Royal Conservatory under the tutelage of Tatiana Samouil. In 2021, she received a special invitation to perform and record at the European Parliament. Most recently, in 2023, she delivered a successful performance of J. Sibelius’s Violin Concerto with the orchestra of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, conducted by Pierre de Bucy.
