Als het enige ensemble dat ooit zowel de eerste prijs als de publieksprijs heeft gewonnen op de Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Italië (2024), is het Fibonacci Quartet een van Europa’s toonaangevende jonge strijkkwartetten.
Tijdens het seizoen 2025/26 zal het kwartet uitgebreid optreden in heel Europa, met als hoogtepunten optredens in de Musikverein in Wenen, de Philharmonie in Berlijn, de Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, de Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Wigmore Hall, het Prinzregentheater in München en de Philharmonie de Paris, en festivaloptredens hebben op het Edinburgh International Festival, het Aldeburgh Festival, het Heidelberger Frühling Festival en de Bad Tölz Winners Summit.
Naast hun drukke concertagenda geven de leden van het kwartet les als Quartet in Residence aan het Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama en als ‘Nina Drucker Fellows’ aan de Royal Academy of Music.
De Fibonaccis worden momenteel gemanaged door YCAT, waar ze in 2024 zijn toegetreden. Onlangs zijn ze ook benoemd tot Grand Résident ensemble bij ProQuartet in Parijs voor de seizoenen 2025-2027. Het kwartet werd oorspronkelijk opgericht aan de Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Londen en was Resident Ensemble aan de Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid bij Günter Pichler en aan de Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Academie in Amsterdam.
Het Fibonacci Quartet is een veelvuldig bekroonde kwartet en heeft talrijke prijzen gewonnen, waaronder de eerste prijs in de Royal Overseas League Chamber Music Competition, de eerste prijs in de Cavatina Chamber Music Competition, de RPS Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award, de eerste prijs in de International Triomphe de l’Art Competition in België, de Kirckman Society Award, de publieksprijs op het Schiermonnikoog Festival en speciale prijzen van de Shostakovich Association in Parijs en Peermusic in Hamburg.
Het Fibonacci Quartet wordt steeds bekender om zijn eigen originele bewerkingen van niet-klassiek repertoire. Hun tweejarige Janáček-project combineerde beide kwartetten van Janáček met arrangementen van Moravische volksliederen, en hun bredere repertoire van sets en toegiften is uitgebreid met jazz, muziektheater, heavy metal enz…
Het kwartet wordt genereus ondersteund door de Hattori Foundation, de Cosman Keller Trust, The Frost Trust en Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre in Parijs.

During the 2025/26 season the quartet will perform extensively across Europe, with highlights including performances at Vienna Musikverein, Berlin Philharmonie, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Wigmore Hall, Munich Prinzregentheater and Philharmonie de Paris, as well as festival appearances at Edinburgh International Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Heidelberger Frühling Festival and Bad Tölz Winners Summit.
Alongside their busy performing schedule, the quartet teach as Quartet in Residence at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as at the Royal Academy of Music in their position as Nina Drucker Fellows.
