Als laureaat van talrijke internationale wedstrijden heeft de cellist Han Bin Yoon onder andere de tweede prijs behaald in de ‘Young Concert Artist International Auditions 2013’, alsook de derde prijs en de speciale prijs voor de beste vertolking van de Chinese Compositie op de ‘International Schoenfeld Cello Competition 2013’ in Hong Kong.
Han Bin werd door de Koreaanse Concert Gemeenschap gekozen om zijn debuutrecital te geven in het Kennedy Center in Washington DC voor een uitgelezen publiek waaronder de Ambassadeur van Korea, Ho-Young Ahn.
Han Bin was van 2014 tot 2017 solist in de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth van België. Hij trad op tijdens de concerten van het Festival van de Muziekkapel in Flagey, op het Festival van Waals Brabant, in het Koreaans Cultureel Centrum in Brussel en in de BOZAR.
Recent was Han Bin solist in orkesten als het Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Casco Phil, de Thornton Symphony onder leiding van James Conlon, en vele anderen.
Han Bin werd uitgenodigd op muziekfestivals waaronder het ‘Piatigorsky International Cello Festival’, het ‘International Musicians Seminar’ te Prussia Cove (UK), de ‘Chamber Music Workshop’ bij het ‘Perlman Music Program’, en andere.
Hij heeft samengewerkt met vermaarde artiesten als onder anderen Itzhak Perlman, Antje Weithaas, Maria Joao Pires, Gary Hoffman, Ralph Kirshbaum en met leden van de Cleveland, Juilliard, Orion en Tokyo Strijkkwartetten.
Volgend seizoen keert hij terug naar het IMS in Prussia Cove voor ‘Open Chamber Music’.
Thans woont Han Bin in België. Hij is artistiek directeur van de ‘Belgium Cello Society’ en Professor Cello bij IMEP in Namen. Hij speelt op een cello van Tanguy Fraval die hij in leen krijgt van de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth.
Top prizewinner at numerous international competitions, cellist Han Bin Yoon won the Second Prize at the 2013 Young Concert Artist International Auditions, as well as the Third Prize and special award for the Best Performance of the Chinese Composition at the 2013 International Schoenfeld Cello Competition in Hong Kong. In 2013, Han Bin was chosen by the Korean Concert Society to give his debut recital at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where the distinguished audience included such notable figures as the Korean Ambassador Ho-Young Ahn.
From 2014-2017, Han Bin was a soloist at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium. He has been highlighted in performances at the Music Chapel Festival in Flagey, Festival Musical du Brabant Wallon, Korean Cultural Center Brussels, and BOZAR. Han Bin has recently performed as guest soloist with orchestras including the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie (Mons), CASCO Phil, Thornton Symphony under the baton of Maestro James Conlon, Springfield (MO), Torrance, Palisades, Brentwood and Huntsville Symphonies.
Han Bin has been invited to such music festivals as the Piatigorsky International Cello Festival, the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove (UK), La Jolla SummerFest, Ravinia, Music@Menlo, Sarasota Music Festival, the Yellow Barn Music School & Festival, and the Chamber Music Workshop at the Perlman Music Program. He has collaborated with prominent artists including Itzhak Perlman, Maria Joao Pires, Gary Hoffman, Ralph Kirshbaum, Anthony Marwood, Donald Weilerstein, Paul Katz, Roger Tapping, Peter Frankl, Boris Berman, and members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, Orion and Tokyo String Quartets. Next season, he returns to IMS Prussia Cove for the Open Chamber Music sessions.
Han Bin is currently based in Belgium, where he is the Artistic Director of the Belgium Cello Society and cello professor at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (ARTS²). Han Bin currently performs on a cello by Tanguy Fraval on special loan from the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. Han Bin is an Official Artist of GEWA music and an endorser of PIRASTRO Strings.
