Jacob Callot wordt in 2009 in een muzikaal gezin geboren en leerde vanaf vierjarige leeftijd viool spelen bij zijn moeder. Toen hij negen was, ging hij bij Erik Sluys viool studeren aan de Muziekacademie van Anderlecht. Hij volgt sporadisch les bij onder anderen Eliot Lawson, Wibert Aerts en Tatiana Samouil. Sinds dit schooljaar is hij leerling van Jolente de Maeyer. Aan het Jong Conservatorium van Antwerpen musiceert hij samen met andere bevlogen jongeren. Mathias Coppens brengt Jacob de kunst van het componeren bij.
Jacob won de eerste prijs van de ‘Vlamo Virtuoso Wedstrijd 2022’. Hij neemt deel aan orkeststages bij onder meer Brussels Sinfonietta, waarmee hij in 2021 de gelegenheid kreeg om als solist op te treden in het Concerto voor twee violen van Vivaldi. Samen met zijn broer en cellist Felix treedt hij regelmatig op en zijn vader Nicolas Callot is hun trouwe pianopartner.
Jacob Callot was born in 2009 into a musical family and learned to play the violin from the age of four with his mother. When he was nine, he started studying violin with Erik Sluys at the Music Academy of Anderlecht. He sporadically takes lessons from Eliot Lawson, Wibert Aerts and Tatiana Samouil, among others. He has been a student of Jolente de Maeyer since this school year. At the Young Conservatory of Antwerp he makes music together with other enthusiastic young people. Mathias Coppens teaches Jacob the art of composing.
Jacob won the first prize of the ‘Vlamo Virtuoso Competition 2022’. He participates in orchestral internships with, among others, the Brussels Sinfonietta, which gave him the opportunity in 2021 to perform as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Concerto for two violins. He performs regularly with his brother and cellist Felix and his father Nicolas Callot is their faithful piano partner.
