Onder de vleugels van zijn moeder zette Jappe (°2004) reeds op 4-jarige leeftijd zijn eerste muzikale stappen op de viool. Al vrij snel volgde de ontdekking van een uitgebreid instrumentarium zoals slagwerk, trombone, fagot en tuba met succesvolle deelnames aan nationale en internationale jongerenwedstrijden (met onder meer een optreden in Santorini als gevolg) en diverse jeugdorkesten.
Op 11-jarige leeftijd kwam Jappe in contact met fagottist Francis Pollet, waardoor het met de fagot plots snel vooruit ging en dit instrument ook zijn voorkeur ging wegdragen.
In november 2017 werd Jappe laureaat van de “Prix Dominique” in Venlo, waar hij ook de publieksprijs behaalde. In april 2018 won hij de Eerste Prijs in de internationale onlinewedstrijd “The Muse”. Al snel volgden solo-optredens met orkest waar onder meer concerti van A. Vivaldi, W.A. Mozart, C.M von Weber op het programma stonden. In maart 2019 werd hij geselecteerd voor het internationaal jeugdorkest van het Concertgebouw, waar hij samen met 72 andere 14-17-jarigen uit heel Europa deelnam aan een intensieve stage en optredens in het Concertgebouw Amsterdam en Flagey Brussel.
In maart 2020 werd hij aangenomen in het Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. Momenteel volgt hij een bacheloropleiding fagot / contrafagot aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen. Onder impuls van zijn leraar en mentor Francis Pollet en mede dankzij I SOLISTI ACADEMY nam Jappe deel aan tal van masterclasses in binnen[1]en buitenland. Sergio Azzolini, Gustavo Nuñez, Fredrik Ekdahl, Sophie Dervaux en vele anderen kunnen getuigen van zijn uitzonderlijk talent.
Jappe Dendievel werd in 2021 eerste prijswinnaar van het Prinses Christina Concours en mag zich vanaf seizoen 2021/22 tevens I SOLISTI NextGeneration Artist noemen.
Sinds november 2021 is hij eerste fagottist en pupiteraanvoerder bij Casco Phil.
Under the wings of his mother, Jappe (°2004) took his first musical steps on the violin at the age of four. The discovery of an extensive range of instruments such as percussion, trombone, bassoon and tuba soon followed, with successful participation in national and international youth competitions (including a performance in Santorini as a result) and various youth orchestras.
At the age of 11, Jappe came into contact with bassoonist Francis Pollet, he suddenly made rapid progress on the bassoon and it became his preferred instrument.
In November 2017, Jappe became a laureate of the “Prix Dominique” in Venlo, where he also won the audience award. In April 2018, he won First Prize in the international online competition “The Muse”. Solo performances with orchestra soon followed, including concertos by A. Vivaldi, W.A. Mozart, C.M von Weber were on the program. In March 2019 he was selected for the International Youth Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, where he, together with 72 other 14-17 year olds from all over Europe, took part in an intensive internship and performances at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Flagey Brussels.
In March 2020 he was accepted into the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in bassoon / contrabassoon at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Under the impulse of his teacher and mentor Francis Pollet and partly thanks to I SOLISTI ACADEMY, Jappe took part in numerous masterclasses at home and abroad. Sergio Azzolini, Gustavo Nuñez, Fredrik Ekdahl, Sophie Dervaux and many others can attest to his exceptional talent.
Jappe Dendievel became the first prize winner of the Princess Christina Competition in 2021 and can also call himself I SOLISTI NextGeneration Artist from the 2021/22 season.
Since November 2021, he has been the principal bassoonist and player leader at Casco Phil.
