Julia Turnovsky is prijswinnaar van de internationale vioolwedstrijden David Oistrach, Carl Flesch en Johannes Brahms. Ze maakte haar debuut als soliste bij het Zuidwest-Duitse Philharmonisch Orkest Konstanz toen ze dertien was. Julia Turnovsky werd geboren in Wenen en komt uit een familie van muzikanten. Ze kreeg haar eerste vioollessen op vijfjarige leeftijd. Van 2000 tot 2014 kreeg ze les van professor Boris Kuschnir aan het Conservatorium van Wenen en aan de Universiteit voor Muziek en Uitvoerende Kunsten Graz. Momenteel zet ze haar opleiding altviool voort bij professor Gerhard Marschner aan de Universiteit voor Muziek en Uitvoerende Kunsten in Wenen.
