Pianist Jura Margulis wordt internationaal erkend voor zijn meeslepende en communicatieve uitvoeringen, voor de reikwijdte van zijn expressieve visie en voor zijn volmaakte virtuositeit. Recensenten hebben de “absolute autoriteit” van zijn interpretaties geprezen en het gevoel van “gecontroleerde obsessie” die hij via het toetsenbord uitstuurt (Fono Forum). In augustus 2011 schreef Drehpunkt Kultur in Salzburg: “Na de uitvoering denk je vluchtig aan de pianisten die legendes werden, maar vergelijkingen zijn niet toegestaan. Margulis is een meester sui generis.” Jura Margulis speelde op tal van festivals, waaronder het Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, de Berliner Festwochen in de Berliner Philharmoniker, het Verbier en de BSI Festivals in Zwitserland, het Argerich-Beppu Muziekfestival in Japan en de Salzburger Festspiele in Oostenrijk. Hij trad de afgelopen jaren op in meer dan 15 landen. Margulis heeft cd’s opgenomen voor Sony, Ars Musici en Oehms Classics, die een breed spectrum aan repertoire beslaan. In 2014 bracht Margulis een volledige Schubert con Sordino-cd uit op een MSP Steingraeber D-232-prototype. Fono Forum schrijft: “Margulis speelt (Schubert) met een enthousiasme, een gevoeligheid en een creatieve verbeeldingskracht die bijna onvergelijkbaar zijn.” In 2015 werd zijn nieuwste cd uitgebracht met alle originele transcripties van muziek van Bach tot Sjostakovitsj op de MSP Steingraeber D 232 inclusief een pianoduo met Martha Argerich van Night on Bald Mountain van Mussorgsky, ook in de originele transcriptie van Margulis – “… verbazingwekkend …” Piano Nieuws; “… duivels … een schitterende prestatie …” Pianiste. Sinds 2008 was Margulis de inaugurele houder van de McAllister Endowed Professorship in Piano aan de Universiteit van Arkansas in de VS. In 2018 werd Jura Margulis benoemd tot hoogleraar piano aan de Musik and Art University in Wenen.

He performed in over 15 countries in the past years. Margulis has recorded CDs for Sony, Ars Musici, and Oehms Classics, covering a wide spectrum of repertoire. Since 2008 Margulis was the inaugural holder of the McAllister Endowed Professorship in Piano at the University of Arkansas in the US. In 2018 Jura Margulis was appointed Professor of Piano at the Musik and Art University in Vienna.
