Liesl Vanoverberghe - Arte Amanti

Liesl Vanoverberghe (°2004) ontdekte haar passie voor de dwarsfluit op negenjarige leeftijd aan het Stedelijk Conservatorium Kortrijk, waar zij haar eerste muzikale opleiding volgde bij Helga Jacobs. Tijdens deze vormende jaren bouwde zij een stevige technische en muzikale basis op. Haar grote leergierigheid bracht haar al vroeg naar talrijke fluitseminaries en muziekstages, waar zij lessen volgde bij gerenommeerde fluitisten uit onder meer België, Nederland, Duitsland, Denemarken, Polen, Slovenië en de Verenigde Staten.

In 2016 werd Liesl toegelaten tot de afdeling Jong Talent van het Conservatorium Kortrijk, waar haar artistieke ontwikkeling verder werd aangescherpt. Parallel hieraan deed zij ruime orkestervaring op in diverse harmonie- en symfonische orkesten. Zo was en is zij actief bij onder andere de Koninklijke Harmonie Vooruit, het Mahler Student Festival Orchestra en het Nationaal Jeugdorkest (NJO) in Nederland, waar zij kennismaakte met uiteenlopende stijlen en orkestrale contexten.

Ook als soliste trad Liesl reeds verschillende keren op. Zij vertolkte het Fluitconcerto in G van Mozart onder leiding van Robert Groslot en Eric Lederhandler, evenals het Concertino van Cécile Chaminade met dirigent Erik Desimpelaere. Daarnaast voerde zij driemaal het Concerto voor Fluit, Harp en Orkest uit met het Arte Amanti Kamerorkest, waarmee zij haar affiniteit met het kamermuzikale repertoire en haar fijnzinnige samenspel bevestigde.

In 2022 startte Liesl haar bachelorstudies aan het Conservatorium Maastricht bij Valérie Debaele. Tegelijk verdiepte zij zich verder in de kamermuziek aan LUCA School of Arts, Campus Lemmens, als lid van het Flageolet Ensemble. In juni 2024 behaalde dit trio een masterdiploma Kamermuziek met grootste onderscheiding. Het ensemble blijft actief concerten geven en werkt voortdurend aan artistieke verdieping.

Liesls talent werd meermaals bekroond op internationale wedstrijden. In 2021 en 2022 behaalde zij prijzen bij onder andere de Bruges Flute Competition, de London Classical Music Competition en de Young Belgian Talent-wedstrijd. In 2023 werd zij runner-up van het Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours. In 2025 werd zij geselecteerd als een van De Twintigers, een prestigieuze erkenning van Klara voor veelbelovend jong muzikaal talent in Vlaanderen.

Liesl Vanoverberghe (°2004) discovered her love for the flute at the age of nine at the Stedelijk Conservatorium in Kortrijk, under the guidance of Helga Jacobs. Her passion for the instrument flourished during these years, and Liesl participated in numerous flute seminars and music courses, refining her skills through lessons with leading flutists from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Slovenia, and the United States.

In September 2016, she joined the “Young Talent” program at the Conservatorium in Kortrijk, where her talent and passion for music continued to develop. She is actively involved in several wind and symphony orchestras, including the Koninklijke Harmonie Vooruit, the Mahler Student Festival Orchestra, and the National Youth Orchestra (NJO) of the Netherlands.

In addition to her orchestral experience, Liesl has appeared multiple times as a soloist, performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G with conductors Robert Groslot and Eric Lederhandler, and Chaminade’s Concertino with conductor Erik Desimpelaere. She has also performed the Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra three times with the Arte Amanti Chamber Orchestra.

In 2022, Liesl began her higher studies at the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands, where she studies under Valerie Debaele. She continues to deepen her chamber music practice at LUCA School of Arts Campus Lemmens in Belgium, as a member of the trio Flageolet Ensemble. In June 2024, the trio was awarded a Master’s degree in Chamber Music with highest distinction, further underscoring their musical cohesion. The trio remains active, performing regularly and continuing their artistic development.

Liesl’s musical talent has received international recognition through her participation in and victories at various competitions. In 2021, she won prizes at the Pamus Flow Global Music Competition, the International Flute Seminar Bruges Flute Competition, and the International Moscow Music Competition. In 2022, she added even more titles, including the First Prize at the Rotary Competition in Kortrijk, the London Classical Music Competition, and the Young Belgian Talent Competition. In 2023, she won the runner-up prize at the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours in the Netherlands.
In 2025, Liesl was selected as one of “De Twintigers,” a prestigious distinction awarded by the Belgian classical radio station Klara to promising young musicians in Flanders.
