    Luna De Mol (°2002, Gent) begon op vierjarige leeftijd viool te spelen bij Fedra Coppens. Op twaalfjarige leeftijd werd zij toegelaten tot de afdeling Jong Talent van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam bij prof. Coosje Wijzenbeek. Op vijftienjarige leeftijd werd Luna toegelaten tot de klas van David Takeno aan de Guildhall School of Music and Drama (Londen, VK), waar ze onlangs haar Bachelors cum laude afrondde en de “Chairman’s Prize” ontving voor het hoogst behaalde algemene cijfer op de school. Ze is ook een leerling van Pavlo Beznosiuk op barokviool. Momenteel is Luna een Ravinia Steans Music Institute Fellow in 2023 en 2024 (Chicago, IL, VS).

    Luna’s strijkkwartet, het Fibonacci Quartet, heeft een volledige beurs aan het International Institute of Chamber Music van de Escuela Superior De Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, waar ze studeren bij Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet). Daarnaast worden ze gecoacht door Marc Danel (Danel Quartet) onder de vleugels van de Nationale Strijkkwartetacademie. Het Fibonacci kwartet won eerste prijzen, complementair publiek en speciale prijzen op verschillende concoursen, zoals de ROSL International Competition, de CAVATINA kamermuziekwedstrijd en de International Beethoven Competition in Londen.

    In januari 2018 won Luna het Nationaal Vioolconcours (categorie Davina van Wely) en was eerder laureaat van diverse andere concoursen zoals het VLAMO concours, het Breughelconcours en het Internationale Grumiaux Concours. In de zomer van 2023 was Luna fellow bij het Ravinia Steans Music Institute (Chicago, IL, VS) en op het Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. Ze kreeg les van o.a. Miriam Fried, Midori, Donald Weilerstein, Mark Steinberg, Paul Biss, Rainer Schmidt, Renaud Capucon, Eberhard Felz, Alasdair Tait, Gary Hoffman, David Waterman, Simone Lamsma en nog veel meer.

    Luna geeft regelmatig concerten als solist en als kamermuzikant. Ze trad op bij o.a. Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Conway Hall (Londen, VK), de Koningin Elisabeth Muziekkapel (Waterloo, BE), Flagey Studio 4 (Brussel, BE), Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw (Amsterdam, NL), Tivoli-Vredenburg (Utrecht, NL ) en op internationale festivals zoals: Het Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Arte Armanti Kamermuziekfestival, Kamermuziekfestival Den Haag, Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Utrecht, het Next Generations Festival Zwitserland, Smetana Festival…


    Luna De Mol (°2002, Ghent) started playing the violin at the age of four with Fedra Coppens. At the age of twelve she was admitted to the Young Talent department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Prof. Coosje Wijzenbeek.  At the age of fifteen, Luna was accepted into David Takeno’s class at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London, UK), where she recently finished her Bachelors with Honours, receiving the “Chairman’s Prize” for the highest achieved overall mark at the school. She is also a student of Pavlo Beznosiuk on the baroque violin.  Currently, Luna is a 2023 and 2024 Ravinia Steans Music Institute Fellow (Chicago, IL, US).

    Luna’s string quartet, the Fibonacci Quartet, holds a full scholarship at the International Institute of Chamber Music of the Escuela Superior De Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid where they study with Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet). They are also coached by Marc Danel (Danel Quartet) under the wings of the Dutch National String Quartet Academy. Fibonacci quartet won 1st prizes, complementary audience and special prizes at several competitions, like the ROSL International competition, the CAVATINA chamber music competition and the International Beethoven Competition in London.

    In January 2018 Luna won the Dutch National Violin Competition (category Davina van Wely) and was previously a laureate of various other competitions such as the VLAMO competition, the Breughel competition and the International Grumiaux Competition. In Summer 2023, Luna was a fellow at the Ravinia Steans Music Institute (Chicago, IL, US) and at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. She received lessons from a.o. Miriam Fried, Midori, Donald Weilerstein, Mark Steinberg, Paul Biss, Rainer Schmidt, Renaud Capucon, Eberhard Felz, Alasdair Tait, Gary Hoffman, David Waterman, Simone Lamsma, and many more.

    Luna regularly gives concerts as a soloist and as a chamber musician. She performed at a.o. Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Conway Hall (London, UK), the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Waterloo, BE), Flagey Studio 4 (Brussels, BE), Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw (Amsterdam, NL), Tivoli-Vredenburg (Utrecht, NL) and at international festivals such as: Het Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Arte Armanti Chamber Music Festival, Chamber Music Festival The Hague, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, the Next Generations Festival Switzerland, Smetana Festival…
