Maja Dvoracek is een professionele concertharpiste. Sinds 2022 is ze soloharpiste bij Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Gent/Antwerpen.
Ze werd in Ulm in november 1991 geboren en begon op tienjarige leeftijd harp te spelen bij Ilse Rheynders. In de daaropvolgende jaren kreeg ze les van Ragnhild Kopp in München en was ze een junior student aan de Zürich University of the Arts bij prof. Catherine Michel. Haar bachelorstudie bracht haar naar Brigitte Heitmeier aan de Bremen Hogeschool voor de Kunsten en vanaf 2012 naar de Hamburgse Universiteit voor Muziek en Theater bij professor Xavier de Maistre waar ze in 2017 afstudeerde als Master of Music. In 2020 voltooide ze haar postdoctorale studie (Konzertexamen) bij professor Françoise Verherve aan de Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
Sinds haar studententijd deed zij orkestervaring op bij diverse orkesten als de Hamburger Symphoniker, het Ensemble l’arte del mondo, de Thüringer Symphoniker, de Baden-Baden Philharmonic, de NDR Radio Philharmonic en het HR Symphony Orchestra.
Als soliste werkte ze samen met ‘Concerto Konstanz’, het Brandenburgse Staatsorkest, het Bach Collegium Frankfurt en anderen. In 2015 trad ze op als soliste met de Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in de concertzaal ‘Glocke’ Bremen.
Verdere werd Maja artistiek geïnspireerd door masterclasses bij harpisten als Ernestine Stoop, Sylvain Blassel, Isabelle Moretti, Anneleen Lenaerts, Michelle Vuillaume en Marie-Pierre Langlamet.
Naast de standaardliteratuur voor haar instrument wijdt zij zich aan de transcriptie van piano- en kamermuziekwerken.
Maja Dvoracek is a professional concert harpist. Since 2022, she is solo harpist at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Ghent/Antwerp.
Born in Ulm in November 1991, she began playing the harp at the age of ten with Ilse Rheynders. In the following years she received lessons from Ragnhild Kopp in Munich and was a junior student at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Catherine Michel. Her Bachelor’s studies took her to Brigitte Heitmeier at the Bremen University of the Arts and, from 2012 on, to the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre to Prof. Xavier de Maistre, from where she graduated as a Master of Music in 2017. In 2020, she completed her postgraduate studies (Konzertexamen) with Prof. Françoise Verherve at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
Since her student days, she has gained orchestral experience with various orchestras such as the Hamburger Symphoniker, the Ensemble l’arte del mondo, the Thüringer Symphoniker, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the NDR Radio Philharmonic and the HR Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist, she worked with ‘Concerto Konstanz’, the Brandenburg State Orchestra, the Bach Collegium Frankfurt, and more. In 2015, she performed as a soloist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in the concert hall ‘Glocke’ Bremen.

In addition to the standard literature for her instrument, she devotes herself to the transcription of piano and chamber music works.
