Malibran ensemble (Viool, Altviool, Cello en Piano)
Vanuit een passie voor kamermuziek ontstond in 2008 het Malibran Quartet. De naam van het ensemble verwijst naar de legendarische diva Maria Malibran die haar passionele leven in het teken van de muziek stelde. Het kwartet werd al gauw een graag geziene gast op nationale en internationale festivals. Het ensemble verwierf naam en faam met zijn geëngageerde vertolkingen, de exploratie van het vocale strijkkwartetrepertoire en zijn inzet voor de hedendaagse muziek.
Het kwartet kreeg in 2022 een nieuwe vorm, het werd een pianokwartet onder de naam Malibran Ensemble. Originele leden Tatiana Samouil, viool en Tony Nys, altviool vormen samen met cellist Han-Bin Yoon en pianiste Stephanie Proot de kern van het ensemble. De muzikanten willen het repertoire met en rond de piano verder uitdiepen, dit in samenwerkingen met componisten enerzijds en vocale en instrumentale topmuzikanten anderzijds
Malibran Ensemble
The Malibran Quartet emerged in 2008 driven by their passion for chamber music. The ensemble’s name pays homage to the legendary diva Maria Malibran, who devoted her passionate life to music. The quartet swiftly gained acclaim as a well-received guest at national and international festivals, earning recognition for its dedicated performances, exploration of the vocal string quartet repertoire, and commitment to contemporary music.
In 2022, the quartet underwent a transformation into a piano quartet, now known as the Malibran Ensemble. Original members, violinist Tatiana Samouil and violist Tony Nys, unite with cellist Han-Bin Yoon and pianist Stephanie Proot to form the ensemble’s core. The musicians aspire to deepen their exploration of repertoire involving the piano through collaborations with composers on one hand and with top vocal and instrumental musicians on the other.
