Marco Sanna werd in 1989 in Sardinië geboren. Hij maakte naam als solist en met kamermuziekensembles in Italië, Duitsland, België, Zweden, Zwitserland, Spanje, Hongarije en de VS. Hij trad op in belangrijke concertzalen als de Berliner Philharmonie, Kammermusiksaal Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin, Piano Salon Christophori, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Schumann-Haus Zwickau, Arthur-Rubinstein-Saal München en de Franz Liszt Academy in Boedapest.
Momenteel is Marco vooral actief als pianist in verschillende kamermuziekensembles. Hij concerteerde met grote artiesten zoals Mayumi Kanagawa, Natalia Lomeiko, Yuri Zhislin en Andy Miles. Hij werkt regelmatig samen met leden van de Berliner Philharmoniker, de Karajan Akademie Berlin, Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin, het WDR Funkhausorchester Köln en het Gürzenich Orchester Köln.
In 2022 won hij met zijn Trio Orelon de eerste prijs op de wedstrijd ‘Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne’ in Graz. Ze ontvingen ook prijzen op ‘Trio di Trieste’, ‘Mendelssohn-Wettbewerb’, de ‘Schumann-Kammermusikpreis’ en de ‘Boris Pergamenschikow-Preis’. Hun debuut-cd met werk van de Amerikaanse componiste Amy Beach verscheen in 2022 en werd hoog geprezen door de internationale pers.
Voor zijn cd’s met de Italiaanse contrabassist Orazio Ferrari ontving Marco lovende recensies in The Strad, Audiophile en Gramophone.
Hij werd uitgenodigd op het ‘Verbier Festival’, ‘Rheingau Musik Festival’, ‘Beethovenfest Bonn’, ‘Rome International Piano Festival’, ‘Festival Academy Budapest’, ‘Aurora Music Festival’ en andere.
In 2017 ondernam hij samen met het Furiant Quartet een tournee van vier maanden door Europa en Amerika, gesponsord door het Lincoln Center New York.
Marco behaalde diploma’s aan de prestigieuze Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlijn en de Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Keulen. Hij volgde masterclasses bij gerenommeerde musici waaronder Jacques Rouvier, Benedetto Lupo, Pinchas Zukerman, Pamela Frank, Menahem Pressler, András Schiff, Gábor Takács-Nagy, José Gallardo, Friedemann Weigle en Jonathan Aner.

He has performed in important concert halls such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Kammermusiksaal Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin, Piano Salon Christophori, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Schumann-Haus Zwickau, Arthur-Rubinstein-Saal Munich and the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest.
Currently, Marco is mainly active as a pianist in various chamber music ensembles. He has performed with great artists such as Mayumi Kanagawa, Natalia Lomeiko, Yuri Zhislin and Andy Miles. He regularly collaborates with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Karajan Akademie Berlin, Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin, the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln and the Gürzenich Orchester Köln.
In 2022 he and his Trio Orelon won first prize at the competition ‘Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne’ in Graz. In 2017, he and the Furiant Quartet undertook a four-month tour of Europe and America, sponsored by Lincoln Center New York.
Marco graduated from the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. He attended master classes with renowned musicians including Jacques Rouvier, Benedetto Lupo, Pinchas Zukerman, Pamela Frank, Menahem Pressler, András Schiff, Gábor Takács-Nagy, José Gallardo, Friedemann Weigle and Jonathan Aner.
