Marley Erickson, geboren in 2003, is de hoofdprijswinnaar van talloze wedstrijden waaronder de USA National Strings Competition, Fundacja Young Arts Competition, Philadelphia International Competition en de Moscow International Competition. Ze is ook laureate van de International Louis Spohr Competition, International Ilona Fehér Competition, II Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition en nam deel aan de Menuhin Competition in 2016 en 2018.
Marley trad op als soliste met orkesten aan beide kanten van de Atlantische Oceaan, waaronder het Seattle Symphony, het Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, het Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra, l’Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni, het Mitteleuropa Orchestra, Anima Musicae en het Seattle Festival Orchestra. Ze gaf concerten in zalen als Walt Disney Concert Hall, Benaroya Hall, Paul Hall, Trinity Chapel, Müpa Budapest en de List Academy’s Grand Hall. Ze had de eer om op te treden onder leiding van Péter Eötvös, Gábor Takács-Nagy en Adám Medveczky en werkte samen met artiesten als Michał Francuz, Rohan De Silva, Nicola Eimer, Jonian Ilias Kadesha, Gilles Apap, Julian Arp, László Fenyő en Veronika Kopjova. In 2016 heeft Marley op uitnodiging van John Adams de Noord-Amerikaanse première van Oscar Colomina i Bosch’s Spigl uitgevoerd in de Green Umbrella Series van de Los Angeles Philharmonic in de Walt Disney Concert Hall die lovend werd ontvangen door critici. ‘Shpigl zal worden herinnerd vanwege de opmerkelijke dertienjarige jonge soul’-artiest, Marley Erickson, die het tot leven bracht. Marley studeert momenteel bij Boris Kuschnir aan de University Music and Performing Arts Graz. Dit nadat ze haar bachelordiploma behaalde aan de Liszt Academy of Music in Boedapest waar ze bij Kristof Baráti en Barnabás Kelemen studeerde. Marley’s vorige leraren in Seattle waren Simon James, Hiro David en Jan Coleman.

Marley has commissioned and premiered numerous works for violin and has given solo recitals in Italy, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, and across the United States.She has had the honor of performing under the baton of Péter Eötvös, Gábor Takács-Nagy, and Ádám Medveczky, and has collaborated with artists such as Michał Francuz, Rohan De Silva, Nicola Eimer, Jonian Ilias Kadesha, Gilles Apap, Julian Arp, László Fenyő, and Veronika Kopjova. In 2016, at the invitation of John Adams, Marley performed the North American premiere of Oscar Colomina i Bosch’s Shpigl on the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella Series at Walt Disney Concert Hall to critical acclaim: “Shpigl will be remembered for the remarkable 13-year-old ‘old soul’ performer, Marley Erickson, who made it come alive. Having joined the roster in 2024, Marley is represented by Felix Artist Management in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
She currently studies with Boris Kuschnir at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, having earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest under Kristóf Baráti and Barnabás Kelemen. Marley’s previous teachers in Seattle were Simon James, Hiro David, and Jan Coleman.
