Martijn van Sas (geboren 1994) voelde zich vanaf zijn tiende sterk aangetrokken tot de piano. Dankzij kundige begeleiding, eerst aan de muziekacademie van Haaltert en later aan de Kunsthumaniora van Brussel, ontwikkelde Martijn zich tot een begenadigd klassiek pianist. Intussen heeft Martijn zich ontpopt tot een gedreven muzikant. In 2018 behaalde hij zijn Master met grote onderscheiding aan het Gents conservatorium, steeds onder de gepassioneerde leiding van docent Vitaly Samoshko (winnaar Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd 1999). Deze Master vulde hij aan met een opleiding liedbegeleiding aan de Weense Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst bij prof. Charles Spencer. Martijn liet zich al regelmatig opmerken bij concerten waaronder Living Piano (MIAT), Arte Amanti (kamermuziekfestival), de Gentsche Festspiele (Gentse Feesten), de Miry Klavier reeks te Gent en in het Schlosstheater Schönbrunn te Wenen. Hij volgde masterclasses bij o.a. Markus Hadulla, Polina Leschenko, Martin Hughes, Jan Michiels, Daniel Blumenthal, Hans Ryckelynck,… Bovendien doet Martijn dit jaar (2019-2020) samen met sopraan Franches Dhont mee aan de Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses, waar ze van verschillende internationaal erkende artiesten les krijgen in De Munt. In Juli 2019 behaalde Martijn de prijs als beste pianist (Theodor-Storm-Preis), in de wedstrijd voor Liedkunst in Husum/Duitsland. Momenteel is Martijn als leraar en begeleider verbonden aan de academie van Zottegem.
Martijn van Sas (born 1994) was strongly attracted to the piano from the age of ten. Thanks to expert guidance, first at the music academy of Haaltert and later at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels, Martijn developed into a gifted classical pianist. In the meantime, Martijn has developed into a passionate musician. In 2018 he obtained his Masters with magna cum laude at the Ghent Conservatory, always under the passionate guidance of teacher Vitaly Samoshko (winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 1999). He supplemented this Master with a course in song accompaniment at the University of Vienna in Music and Music with Prof. Charles Spencer. Martijn has regularly been noticed at concerts including Living Piano (MIAT), Arte Amanti (chamber music festival), the Gentsche Festspiele (Ghent Festivities), the Miry Klavier series in Ghent and in the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna. He followed masterclasses with Markus Hadulla, Polina Leschenko, Martin Hughes, Jan Michiels, Daniel Blumenthal, Hans Ryckelynck, … Moreover, this year (2019-2020) Martijn takes part in the Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses together with soprano Franches Dhont, where she several internationally recognized artists are taught at De Munt. In July 2019 Martijn received the prize as best pianist (Theodor-Storm-Preis), in the Liedkunst competition in Husum / Germany. Martijn is currently a teacher and supervisor at the academy of Zottegem.
