Mathilde Wauters behaalde haar Masterdiploma harp met grootste onderscheiding in 2017 aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen in de klas van Sophie Hallynck. Vervolgens perfectioneerde ze zich aan het Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in de klas van Isabelle Moretti, waar ze haar Masterdiploma behaalde met felicitaties van de jury.
Mathilde was laureate van verschillende nationale en internationale wedstrijden, waaronder het internationale concours Félix Godefroid en de nationale wedstrijd Harpegio. Ze werd ook laureate van de Belfius Classics wedstrijd in 2012, waar ze naast een eerste prijs de EMCY prijs toegekend kreeg, evenals de prijs van de Unie van Belgische Componisten.
In november 2013 behaalde Mathilde een eerste prijs met unanimiteit van de jury in het Concours International Martine Géliot te Parijs/Fontainebleau. Ze kreeg er eveneens de speciale prijs voor de beste interpretatie van het werk van Marcel Tournier, aangeboden door Les éditions Lemoine.
Op het prestigieuze 11e USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington behaalde zij, naast de Bronzen Medaille, ook de speciale prijs voor de beste uitvoering van het Concierto de Aranjuez in de finale.
Tijdens haar loopbaan heeft Mathilde verschillende masterclasses gevolgd bij gerenommeerde harpisten zoals Letizia Belmondo, Germaine Lorenzini, Jana Bouskova, Patrizia Tassini, Anneleen Lenaerts en Ingrid Procureur. In 2018 won ze de auditie voor de orkeststage in Schleswig-Holstein, waar ze musiceerde met dirigenten als Christophe Eschenbach en Justin Freer. Ze heeft orkestervaring in de Munt in Brussel en ze speelt regelmatig met het HERMES ensemble voor hedendaagse muziek.
In november 2019 werd Mathilde geselecteerd om 18 maanden mee te spelen in de Orkestacademie van de Münchner Philharmoniker, waar ze samen met coach Teresa Zimmermann speelt onder leiding van chef-dirigent Valery Gergiev en verschillende gastdirigenten.
Mathilde speelde soloconcerten op verschillende muziekfestivals zoals Seduced by Harps, het Arte Amanti festival en Les Concerts de l’Orangerie in Seneffe. Ook werd ze uitgenodigd om te spelen voor de Association Internationale des Harpistes in Parijs in maart 2015.
In kamermuziekverband concerteert ze geregeld met haar zus Emma, met wie ze een harpduo vormt. Samen exploreren ze het duetrepertoire van John Thomas tot Karlheinz Stockhausen en brachten ze deze programma’s onder andere in Bozar te Brussel en in het Concertgebouw in Brugge.
Mathilde obtained her Master degree for harp with highest distinction in 2017 at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in the class of Sophie Hallynck. She perfected herself at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Isabelle Moretti, where she obtained her Master degree with congratulations of the jury.
Mathilde was laureate of several national and international competitions, including the international competition Félix Godefroid and the national competition Harpegio. She was also a laureate of the Belfius Classics competition in 2012, where in addition to a first prize she was awarded the EMCY prize, as well as the prize of the Union of Belgian Composers.
In November 2013, Mathilde won a first prize with unanimity of the jury in the Concours International Martine Géliot in Paris / Fontainebleau. She also received the special prize for the best interpretation of the work of Marcel Tournier, presented by Les éditions Lemoine.

During her career Mathilde has followed various master classes with renowned harpists such as Letizia Belmondo, Germaine Lorenzini, Jana Bouskova, Patrizia Tassini, Anneleen Lenaerts and Ingrid Procureur. In 2018 she won the audition for the orchestral stage in Schleswig-Holstein, where she played with conductors such as Christophe Eschenbach and Justin Freer. She has orchestral experience at La Monnaie in Brussels and regularly plays with the HERMES ensemble for contemporary music.
In November 2019, Mathilde was selected to play for 18 months in the Academy Orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, where she performs together with coach Teresa Zimmermann under the direction of chief conductor Valery Gergiev and several guest conductors.
Mathilde played solo concerts at various music festivals such as Seduced by Harps, the Arte Amanti festival and Les Concerts de l’Orangerie in Seneffe. She was also invited to play for the Association Internationale des Harpistes in Paris in March 2015.
She regularly performs in chamber music with her sister Emma as a harp duo. Together they explore the duet repertoire from John Thomas to Karlheinz Stockhausen, and they performed these programs in Bozar in Brussels and in the Concert hall in Bruges, among others.
