De jonge pianist heeft inmiddels drie cd’s op zijn naam staan, de complete sonates voor viool en piano van Edvard Grieg samen met violiste Maya Levy uit 2017, de twaalf Etudes op. 8 en 24 Preludes, Op. 11 van Aleksandr Skrjabin uit 2018 en de pianosonate, Op. 7 en 14 Lyrische Stücke van Edvard Grieg uit 2021, uitgegeven door Piano Classics.
Zijn laatste twee cd’s werden door radiozender Klara bekroond met de Keuze van Klara en ontvingen een vijfsterrenrecensie van het prestigieuze muziektijdschrift Classica.
Naast soloconcerten speelt Matthieu Idmtal kamermuziek. Zo won hij met het pianoduo met Anastasia Kozhushko en in duo met violiste Maya Levy meerdere hoofdprijzen, Youth ’n Classic in België, Concorso Internazionale San Cristoforo in Italië, International Chamber Music Competition Almere in Nederland en de Belgische Supernova.
Zijn affiniteit met de Poolse componist bracht hem ertoe de Brussels Chopin Days op te richten, een internationale concertreeks gewijd aan Frédéric Chopin waarvan Matthieu Idmtal sinds 2013 artistiek directeur is.

He is the winner of more than 15 international competitions.
The young pianist has released three CDs to date: the complete sonatas for violin and piano by Edvard Grieg, in collaboration with violinist Maya Levy (2017); 12 Études, Op. 8 and 24 Preludes, Op. 11 by Alexander Scriabin (2018); and Piano Sonata, Op. 7 and 14 Lyric Pieces by Edvard Grieg (2021), all published by Piano Classics.
His last two CDs were awarded the “Choice of Klara” by the national radio station Klara and received five-star reviews from the prestigious music magazine Classica. His recording entirely dedicated to Alexander Scriabin received widespread acclaim.
In addition to his solo performances, Matthieu is an avid chamber musician. He has won several top prizes with his piano duo partner Anastasia Kozhushko and in a duo with violinist Maya Levy, including at Youth ’n Classic (Belgium), Concorso Internazionale San Cristoforo (Italy), the International Chamber Music Competition Almere (Netherlands), and the Belgian Supernova competition.
His deep affinity with the works of Chopin inspired him to establish the Brussels Chopin Days, an international concert series dedicated to the music of Frédéric Chopin. Matthieu Idmtal has served as its artistic director since its inception in 2013.
