Mauro Siebens werd in 2012 geboren in een muzikale familie. Op zesjarige leeftijd begon hij met cello aan de Muziekacademie van Schoten, waar zijn instrumentale basis werd gelegd.
Al op jonge leeftijd viel hij op tijdens optredens en projecten. Op zijn tiende stond hij voor het eerst op een groter podium. Ook bij wedstrijden en activiteiten van Vlamo wist hij de aandacht van de jury te trekken.
In mei 2025 werd Mauro toegelaten tot de klas van Justus Grimm, als jongste leerling. Sinds september van datzelfde jaar volgt hij daarnaast ook lessen bij Marijke Gonnissen aan de Academie van Mortsel.
In augustus 2025 nam hij deel aan IMUSE in Edingen. Daar was hij de jongste deelnemer van het festival en bracht hij tijdens een van de concerten de Élégie van Fauré. Met die uitvoering bevestigde hij zijn groei als jonge cellist en zijn actieve aanwezigheid op het concertpodium.
Mauro Siebens was born in 2012 into a musical family. He started playing the cello at the age of six at the Music Academy of Schoten, where he built his technical and musical foundations.
He soon attracted attention through performances and projects, and at the age of ten he gave his first major public appearance. He also impressed the jury on two occasions during activities and competitions organised by Vlamo.
In May 2025 Mauro was accepted into the class of Justus Grimm as its youngest student. Since September of that year he has also been studying with Marijke Gonnissen at the Academy of Mortsel.
In August 2025 he took part in IMUSE in Enghien as the youngest participant of the festival. During one of the concerts he performed Fauré’s Élégie, marking another step in his development as a young cellist with an increasing presence on the concert stage.
