Noah Bendix-Balgley is eerste concertmeester van de Berliner Philharmoniker en toert als kamermuzikant en als solist. Zijn persoonlijke geluid ontroerde luisteraars wereldwijd. In het seizoen 2022/23 maakte Noah zijn concertdebuut in Carnegie Hall waar hij optrad als solist van de Berliner Philharmoniker USA-tour onder leiding van Kirill Petrenko. Het seizoen omvatte ook zijn debuut bij het Baltimore Symphony Orchestra en ProMusica Columbus, evenals een terugkeer naar het Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, waar hij van 2011 tot 2015 concertmeester was. Recente hoogtepunten zijn concerto-optredens met de filharmonische orkesten van Berlijn, Dresden, Auckland, Nagoya en Oklahoma City. Hij trad op met het Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra en de Symfonieorkesten van Utah, Pittsburgh, Quebec, Shanghai en Guangzhou. Noah is een gerenommeerd vertolker van traditionele klezmermuziek en gaf klezmerworkshops. In 2016 bracht Noah zijn eigen klezmervioolconcert, Fidl-Fantazye, in première met het Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, later volgde de kamerorkestversie.
Noah treedt op in verschillende kamermuziekensembles, in een trio met pianist Robert Levin en cellist Peter Wiley, met het Rosamunde String Quartet met leden van de Los Angeles en New York Philharmonics en met het multi-genre septet Philharmonix, met leden van zowel de Berlin als de New York Philharmonics. In 2022 bracht hij zijn derde album uit op DeutscheGrammophon.
Noah, geboren in Asheville, North Carolina, begon als vierjarige met viool spelen. Toen hij negen was speelde hij voor Lord Yehudi Menuhin. Hij studeerde af aan de JacobsSchool of Music van de Indiana University en de Hochschule van München. Zijn belangrijkste mentoren waren Mauricio Fuks, Christoph Poppen en Ana Chumachenco. Hij is laureaat van de Koningin Elizabeth Competitie van 2009 en won topprijzen op de Long-Thibaud Competitie in Frankrijk en de Postacchini Competitie in Italië. Noah is nu zelf docent aan de Karajan Academie van de BerlinerPhilharmoniker en geeft masterclasses. Hij was lid van de jury’s van de Menuhin Competition, de Indianapolis International Violin Competition en voorzitter van de viooljury van de Carl Nielsen Competition.
Noah Bendix-Balgley is principal concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker and tours as a chamber musician and as a soloist. His personal sound moved listeners worldwide. In the 2022/23 season, Noah made his concert debut at Carnegie Hall, performing as soloist on the Berlin Philharmonic USA tour conducted by Kirill Petrenko. The season also included his debuts with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and ProMusica Columbus, as well as a return to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, where he was concertmaster from 2011 to 2015. Recent highlights include concerto performances with the philharmonic orchestras of Berlin, Dresden, Auckland, Nagoya and Oklahoma City. He has performed with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestras of Utah, Pittsburgh, Quebec, Shanghai and Guangzhou. He toured with Apollo’s Fire Orchestra on period instruments, performed the Brahms Double Concerto with Alisa Weilerstein and the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra, toured with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and gave recitals at the Philharmonie Berlin, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, the National Forum of Music in Wrocław and the National Concert Hall in Taipei.
Noah is a renowned interpreter of traditional klezmer music and has given klezmer workshops. In 2016, Noah premiered his own klezmer violin concerto, Fidl-Fantazye, with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, followed later by the chamber orchestra version.

He has served on the juries of the Menuhin Competition, the Indianapolis International Violin Competition, and as chairman of the violin jury of the Carl Nielsen Competition.
