Raphael Becker werd in 1997 geboren te Sondershausen (Duitsland), als zoon van een Bulgaarse pianiste en een Duitse cellist. Opgroeiend in een familie van professionele klassieke muzikanten werd zijn talent, het enthousiasme voor muziek en het bespelen van verschillende instrumenten al op zeer jonge leeftijd ontdekt en ontwikkeld. Van zijn grootvader kreeg hij vanaf zijn zesde les in percussie en slagwerk. Verder gaf zijn moeder hem continue pedagogische begeleiding bij het pianospel. In deze intense tijd ontwikkelde Raphael een sterke passie voor de klassieke muziek en besloot hij op 16-jarige leeftijd naar Antwerpen te gaan waar hij aan “De Kunsthumaniora” pianolessen van Nicolas Callot kreeg. Ook volgde hij lessen als jong talent op het conservatorium waar hij het vak kamermuziek kreeg van o.a. Wietse Beels en Annelien van Wauwe. Vandaag studeert hij zijn master aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen bij Sergei Edelmann.
Naast vele reeds voltooide concerten, speelt Raphael jaarlijks op het Arte Amanti Festival in Vlaanderen. Nam hij deel aan de International Summer Academy Cervo (Italië) en deed zijn eerste orkest ervaring op met het orkest van “De Kunsthumaniora” waarmee hij o.l.v. Edwig Abrath in de Amuz concerteerde.
Bij de IYTMC-competitie was hij een van de finalisten en verder ontving hij vele masterclasses van pianisten zoals: Ian Fountain, Frank Peeters, Henri Sigfridsson, Lucas Blondeel, Jan Michiels, Daniel Blumenthal, Eleonora Josiovitch en anderen.
Raphael Becker was born in Sondershausen, Germany, in 1997, the son of a Bulgarian pianist and a German cellist. Growing up in a family of professional classical musicians, his talent, enthusiasm for music and playing different instruments were discovered and developed at a very young age. From the age of six he was taught percussion and percussion by his grandfather. Furthermore, his mother gave him continuous pedagogical guidance in the piano playing. During this intense time Raphael developed a strong passion for classical music and decided at the age of 16 to go to Antwerp where he received piano lessons from Nicolas Callot at the age of 16. He also took classes as a young talent at the conservatory where he received the subject of chamber music from Wietse Beels and Annelien van Wauwe, among others. Today he is studying his master’s at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Sergei Edelmann.
In addition to many concerts already completed, Raphael plays annually at the Arte Amanti Festival in Flanders. He participated in the International Summer Academy Cervo (Italy) and gained his first orchestra experience with the orchestra of “De Kunsthumaniora” with which he performed in the Amuz under the direction of Edwig Abrath.
In the IYTMC competition he was one of the finalists and furthermore he received many master classes from pianists such as: Ian Fountain, Frank Peeters, Henri Sigfridsson, Lucas Blondeel, Jan Michiels, Daniel Blumenthal, Eleonora Josiovitch and others.
