Raphael Gisbertz is in 2008 in Düsseldorf geboren en maakte op negenjarige leeftijd zijn solodebuut met de Niederrheinische Sinfoniker. Sindsdien trad hij regelmatig op als solist met verschillende orkesten. In 2024 gaf hij vier concerten met de Niederrheinische Sinfoniker en was hij concertmeester van het Jeugdorkest van Noordrijn-Westfalen voor acht uitvoeringen van Rimski-Korsakovs Scheherazade die door WDR werd geproduceerd voor een aankomende cd-release. In september trad hij ook op met de Bayer Symphoniker en het Euregio Kamerorkest.
Raphaels opmerkelijke talent leverde hem talloze onderscheidingen op waaronder de Premier Grand Prix op het Concours Grumiaux in Brussel in 2023. Hij behaalde twaalf keer de hoogste score van 25 punten op de wedstrijd Jugend musiziert en won in 2021 de tweede prijs op de internationale Ysaye-wedstrijd. Andere opmerkelijke prijzen zijn de Ferdinand Trimborn Förderpreis NRW. In februari 2023 leverde zijn optreden op de wedstrijd van het Duitse Muziekinstrumentenfonds hem een zeldzame C.G. Testore-viool uit 1700 op. Sinds juli 2024 is hij een beursontvanger van de Hans- und Stefan Bernbeck Foundation.
Raphael heeft aanzienlijke kamermuziekervaring opgedaan bij prestigieuze evenementen zoals het Musica Mundi Festival in België en als jongste deelnemer aan de Gstaad String Academy. Met steun van de Belgische Musica Mundi Family sinds hij tien jaar oud was, werd hij in september 2024 leerling van de Musica Mundi School in Waterloo waar hij viool studeerde bij professor Leonid Kerbel, tevens professor aan het Royal College of Music.
Zijn passie voor kamermuziek komt tot uiting in zijn samenwerking met pianist Colin Pütz, een partnerschap dat in 2018 begon. In juni 2024 nam het duo een programma met sonates op voor SWR Kultur dat op 20 december werd uitgezonden in het SWR Mittagkonzert.
Raphaels belangrijkste docenten zijn Emir Imerov, sinds 2019, en Gwendolyn Masin. Hij genoot ook van masterclasses met professor Ingolf Turban. Als beursstudent van de International Music Academy Liechtenstein neemt hij actief deel aan de intensieve programma’s en activiteiten.
Born in Düsseldorf in 2008, Raphael Gisbertz made his solo debut at the age of nine with the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker and has since performed regularly as a soloist with various orchestras. In 2024, he played four concerts with the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker and served as concertmaster of the North Rhine-Westphalia Youth Orchestra during eight performances of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. This production, recorded by WDR, is slated for release on CD. In September, he also appeared with the Bayer Symphoniker and the Euregio Chamber Orchestra.
Raphael’s exceptional talent has earned him numerous awards. He won the Premier Grand Prix at the Concours Grumiaux in Brussels (2023) and achieved the highest possible score of 25 points twelve times in the Jugend musiziert competition. In 2021, he secured second prize at the International Ysaye Competition and has received other notable honors, including the Ferdinand Trimborn Förderpreis NRW. In February 2023, he won the German Musical Instrument Fund competition, which granted him the loan of a rare C.G. Testore violin from 1700. Since July 2024, he has been a scholarship recipient of the Hans- und Stefan Bernbeck Foundation.
Raphael has gained extensive chamber music experience at esteemed events such as the Musica Mundi Festival in Belgium and as the youngest participant at the Gstaad String Academy. Supported by the Belgian Musica Mundi Family since the age of 10, he joined the Musica Mundi School in Waterloo, Belgium, in September 2024. There, he studies violin with Professor Leonid Kerbel (Royal College of Music, London).
His passion for chamber music is reflected in his collaboration with pianist Colin Pütz, a partnership that began in 2018. In June 2024, the duo recorded a program of sonatas for SWR Kultur, which was broadcast on December 20th during the SWR Mittagkonzert.
