    Regina Vanhecke is a 20-year-old pianist who has been playing since she was 4 years old, first at the Youth Music School in Beersel, and later with the Spanish pianist Caridad Galindo. Regina also studied from 2017 to 2020 at the Talent Music Masters School in Brescia, Italy. Today, she takes lessons with Maestro Philippe Raskin, a professor at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music in Vienna. This year, she started her third bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels in the class of Maestro Aleksandar Madzar, where she was accepted in 2019 as a “Young Talent.”

    Regina has attended various “masterclasses” with renowned pianists such as Jean Claude Vanden Eynden, Vincenzo Balzani, Yuri Bogdanov, Olga Kern, Robert Andres, Amy Lin, Svetlana Eganian, Masahi Katayama, Krystian Tkaczewski, Leonel Morales, among others.

    She is regularly invited as a young talent to participate in various festivals and concerts, including “Arte Amanti,” “Clame,” “Onde musicali sul Lago d’Iseo,” “Pianisti dal Mondo” in Brescia, and “Résonances” in Le Havre, France. She has also performed at the opening concert of the César Franck International Piano Competition and the Ars Musica Festival in Brussels. Recently, she played with an orchestra under the direction of Maestro Prof. Masahi Katayama (Osaka University of Arts), who complimented Regina, stating, “She has a very important essence for classical musicians at her young age already.”

    As a young talent, she has shared the stage with maestros such as Jean Claude Vanden Eynden, Philippe Raskin, Andreas Frölich, Vincenzo Balzani, Luc Devos, Lavard Skou Larsen, Jérôme Pernoo, Miguel Da Silva, Paul Meyer, and others.

    Regina has successfully participated in several national and international competitions:

    2016: Laureate of the “Cantabile” competition with the “Emmanuel Durlet Prize” for the best interpretation of the compulsory work.

    2018: 2nd prize in the “Concours National Andrée Charlier.”

    2019: 2nd prize at the “Tadini International Piano Competition” in Lovere, Italy; 1st prize “with praise from the jury” at Vlamo; 1st prize unanimously at the “Grand Concours International de Paris” in her category.

    2022: 1st prize “cum laude” at Vlamo Virtuoso 22 in the highest category; 3rd prize in the Danubia Talents Liszt International Music Competition; 1st prize in the Andrée Charlier national competition, also receiving the Ars Musica prize for the best interpretation of the imposed work.

    2023: 1st prize unanimously at the “Grand Concours International de Paris” in the highest category.
