    Salih Can Gevrek werd in Turkije geboren en begon op vijfjarige leeftijd met pianolessen. Toen hij zeven was, werd hij toegelaten tot de prestigieuze Faculty of Music and Drama Preparatory School van de Bilkent University in Ankara. Hij vervolgde zijn studies aan de Bilkent University bij Gulnara Aziz tot 2011, waarna hij tot het Royal College of Music London werd toegelaten. Recent voltooide hij zijn Artist Diploma aan het Royal College of Music bij Dmitri Alexeev en nu vervolmaakt hij zich verder aan de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth als artiest in residentie bij Louis Lortie.

    Toen hij tien was werd Salih bekroond met een prijs op de International Young Pianists Competition van de Eskisehir – Anadolu University. Vervolgens won hij de 2e Prijs op de ‘Lubomir Pipkov’ International Piano Competition in Bulgarije, was hij laureaat van de Moscow State Conservatory International Piano Competition en sleepte hij de 1e Prijs in de wacht op de Kamuran Gundemir Piano Competition. Hij ontving ook de ‘Selcuk-Kamuran Gundemir’ Special Prize met een vertolking van Rachmaninovs Pianoconcerto No. 2 met het Presidential Symphony Orchestra. Onlangs ontving hij de 1e Prijs op de Gumusluk International Piano Competition, alsook de 3e Prijs en de Scriabin Prize op het Concours International de Piano de Lyon in Frankrijk.

    Salih nam aan masterclasses met gerenommeerde pianisten deel, onder wie Dmitri Bashkirov, Boris Berezovski, Menahem Pressler, Leonid Margarius, Lars Vogt, Louis Lortie, Edna Golandsky, Özgür Aydin en Idil Biret.

    Als solist trad hij op met het (INSO) Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Ankara Philharmonic Orchestra en het Presidential Symphony Orchestra. Hij gaf ook solorecitals op internationale muziekfestivals, zoals het Granada Music Festival in Spanje, Antalya Piano Festival, Music Above the Park Music Festival in Madrid, ‘Three Choirs Festival’ Worcester, Bosch Young Classical Musicians Festival. Zijn solorecital voor het Ankara Music Festival 2011 werd sterk gelauwerd en live uitgezonden op de nationale radio in Spanje en Turkije. Salih werd onlangs genomineerd tot ‘Talent Unlimited’ artiest en trad op in gerenommeerde zalen als Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Steinway Hall, Steinway 160th Anniversary ‘Arabesque’ Launch, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall in het Royal College of Music, St James Piccadilly, Elgar Room in de Royal Albert Hall, Joseph Joachim Concert Hall en de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth.

    Salih Can Gevrek, born in Turkey, started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. He was accepted into the prestigious Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Drama Preparatory School in Ankara at the age of 7. He continued his studies at the Bilkent University with Gulnara Aziz until 2011 when he was accepted into the Royal College of Music London. He recently completed his Artist Diploma at Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev and he has been accepted to the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel as an `Artist in Residenece` with Louis Lortie.

    His achievements in international competitions started from the age of 10 when he was awarded a prize in the Eskisehir Anadolu University International Young Pianists Competition. His success continued with a 2nd Prize in the Lubomir Pipkov International Piano Competition in Bulgaria, laureate in the Moscow State Conservatory International Piano Competition, and 1st Prize in the Kamuran Gundemir Piano Competition. He was also awarded the ‘Selcuk-Kamuran Gundemir’ Special Prize and performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.He recently won the 1st prize in Gumusluk International Piano Competition and was awarded a 3rd Prize and the Scriabin Prize at the Lyon International Piano Competition in France.

    Salih has performed in masterclasses with renowned pianists including Dmitri Bashkirov, Boris Berezovsky, Menahem Pressler, Leonid Margarius, Lars Vogt, Louis Lortie, Edna Golandsky, Ozgur Aydin and Idil Biret.

    As a soloist, he has performed with the (INSO) Lviv Philarmonia Orchestra,Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Ankara Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed solo recitals in international music festivals, such as the Granada Music Festival in Spain, Antalya Piano Festival, Music Above the Park Music Festival in Madrid, ‘Three Choirs Festival’ Worcester ,Bosch Young Classical Musicians Festival, and the. His solo recital for the Ankara Music Festival 2011 was highly praised and broadcast live on the national radio in Spain and Turkey. Salih was recently announced as a ‘Talent Unlimited’ artist and has performed in celebrated venues such as Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Steinway Hall, Steinway 160th Anniversary ‘Arabesque’ Launch, Amaryllis Fleming Hall at the Royal College of Music, St James Piccadilly, Elgar Room of Royal Albert Hall, Joseph Joachim Concert Hall and Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel Concert Hall.
