In 2007 behaalde Severine Sierens haar Masterdiploma aan het Lemmensinstituut bij Dhr Eddy Vanoosthuyse. Daarnaast behaalde ze in 2011 een Master Na Masterdiploma en een Master in de Kamermuziek aan dezelfde instelling. Naast klarinet specialiseerde Severine zich op esklarinet bij Dhr David Van Maele. Severine behaalde in 2020 een ‘Master of Music’ diploma aan de Fontys Academy of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg en ontving daarbij een bijkomende vermelding voor concert concept en theatraliteit.
Naast haar opleiding volgde Severine ook masterclasses van Freddy Arteel, Robert Spring, Robert Walzel, Luis Rossi, Howard Klug, Thomas Friedli, Thomas Röthlisberger, Eli Eban, Michel Arrignon, Hideaki Iwai, Marie Picard, Fan Lei, Jan Guns, Jacques Merrer, Florent Héau, Philippe Cuper, Jean-Luc Votano en Henri Bok.
Severine nam reeds succesvol deel aan verschillende wedstrijden in binnen- en buitenland. Zo werd ze halve finaliste op de ‘Young Artist Competition’ van de International Clarinet Association in 2007 in Vancouver, halve finaliste tijdens de 12th International Clarinet Competition Ciro Scarponi in 2014 in Todi en de ‘Troisième Concours International de clarinette Louis Cahuzac’ in 2019.
Severine werkte als freelance-muzikante bij de ‘Brussels Philharmonic’ , de ‘Vlaamse Opera’ en de ‘Koninklijke Muziekkapel van de Luchtmacht’. Ze is leerkracht in het DKO in Gent en Oudenaarde. In januari 2016 werkte ze mee aan de theaterproductie ‘Moby Dick – en répétition’ in het ‘Théâtre de Liège’.
Severine is lid van kamermuziekensembles ‘Venturi Houtblaaskwintet’ en ‘Clariña Quartet’. Ze is ook een actief lid van ‘The International Clarinets’.
Verder trad Severine reeds als soliste op met: het ‘Ciurlionis Stringquartet’, ‘The University of Utah Windensemble’, ‘The International Clarinets’, muziekvereniging ‘Da Capo’ uit Leeuwarden, harmonieorkest ‘Yver en Eendracht’ uit Kaprijke, ‘Claribel Clarinet Choir Guido Six’ tijdens TMEA in San Antonio en de Midwest Clinic in Chicago, de ‘Simon Bolivar Youth Symphony Band’, de ‘Free State Symphony’ in Bloemfontein, ‘Symfonisch Ensemble Querceto’, het ‘Roman Quartet’, ‘L’Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine’, ‘Nuove Musiche’ en het ‘Odeion String Quartet’.
Severine is sinds 2014 administrative manager van International Music Promotion vzw (organisator van de ‘International Clarinet Competition Ghent’). Ze is dirigente van de ‘Koninklijke Harmonie Concordia’ uit Waarschoot en de ‘Koninklijke Fanfare Willen is Kunnen’ uit Wippelgem.
Severine is Buffet Crampon artieste.
Severine Sierens obtained her Master’s degree at the Lemmens Institute in 2007 with Mr Eddy Vanoosthuyse. She also obtained a Master After Master degree and a Master in Chamber Music at the same institution in 2011. In addition to clarinet, Severine specialized on E-flat clarinet with Mr David Van Maele. Severine has already successfully participated in various competitions at home and abroad. She was semi-finalist at the ‘Young Artist Competition’ of the International Clarinet Association in 2007 in Vancouver, semi-finalist at the 12th International Clarinet Competition Ciro Scarponi in Todi in 2014 and the ‘Troisième Concours International de clarinette Louis Cahuzac’ in 2019.
Severine worked as a freelance musician with the ‘Brussels Philharmonic’, the ‘Flemish Opera’ and the ‘Royal Music Chapel of the Air Force’. She is a teacher in art schools in Ghent and Oudenaarde. In January 2016 she participated in the theater production “Moby Dick – en répétition” at the “Théâtre de Liège”.
Severine is a member of chamber music ensembles ‘Venturi Woodwind Quintet’ and ‘Clariña Quartet’. She is also an active member of ‘The International Clarinets’. Severine also performed as a soloist with: the ‘Ciurlionis Stringquartet’, ‘The University of Utah Windsemble’, ‘The International Clarinets’, music association ‘Da Capo’ from Leeuwarden, wind band ‘Yver en Eendracht’ from Kap Rich, Claribel Clarinet Choir Guido Six at TMEA in San Antonio and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, the Simon Bolivar Youth Symphony Band, the Free State Symphony in Bloemfontein, Symphonic Ensemble Querceto, the Roman Quartet, L’Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Nuove Musiche and the Odeion String Quartet.
Severine is Administrative Manager of International Music Promotion (organizer of the ‘International Clarinet Competition Ghent’) since 2014. She is the conductor of the ‘Koninklijke Harmonie Concordia’ of Waarschoot and the ‘Koninklijke Fanfare Willen is Kunnen’ of Wippelgem.
Severine is a Buffet Crampon artist.
