Sofja Gülbadamova, prijswinnaar op vele internationale concoursen in de VS, Spanje, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Rusland, won in 2008 eerste prijzen op twee prestigieuze pianoconcoursen in Frankrijk. Op de ‘Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition’ in Wenen werd ze in 2010 met de Grote Prijs bekroond. Een paar maanden later won ze de tweede prijs op de ‘Internationale Pianowedstrijd André Dumortier’ in België.
Sofja Gülbadamova wijdt zich al jaren aan het werk van de Hongaarse componist Ernst von Dohnányi.
Sofja Gülbadamova’s nam in 2019 de cd ‘Humoresques’ op, in 2020 gevolgd door de cd’s ‘Hungarian Melody’ en ‘Idylle’. In 2021 registreerde ze samen met violist Denis Goldfeld de sonates voor piano en viool van Johannes Brahms.
Recent trad Sofja Gülbadamova als solist op onder leiding van beroemde dirigenten als Michel Tabachnik, Michail Jurowski, Kirill Karabits, Marko Letonja, Alevtina Ioffe, Dmitri Jurowski en vele anderen.
Als kamermuzikante werkt ze samen met vooraanstaande artiesten als onder meer James Tocco, Denis Goldfeld, Gary Hoffman, Hartmut Rohde, Alexandra Soumm, het Quartet Sine Nomine en het Psophos Quartet.
Sofja Gülbadamova’s recente concerten omvatten optredens in het International House of Music in Moskou en in de Grote Zaal van St. Petersburg Philharmony. Ze trad in Zweden op in de Geerhallen in Norrköping en Crusellhallen in Linköping, ook concerteerde ze in de Paderewski Hall in het Zwitserse Lausanne. In Duitsland was ze te horen in het Kurhaus Wiesbaden, in het historische stadhuis in Wuppertal evenals in het Konzerthaus Berlin. In Colombia stond ze op het podium van het Teatro Colón.
De veelgeprezen recitals van Sofja Gülbadamova op een van de ‘Top tien’ pianofestivals in Europa, ‘Rarities of Piano Music’ in het Duitse Husum staan op de cd van de 2012-editie van het festival. Deze is door het Deense label Danacord uitgegeven en was Editor’s Choice in de GRAMOPHONE-uitgave van november 2013.
Sofja werd geboren in Moskou, waar ze haar muziekstudie begon aan de Gnessins Special Music School. Ze vervolgde haar studie aan de Musikhochschule Lübeck in de klas van James Tocco, aan het Conservatorium van Parijs bij Jacques Rouvier, en aan de Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris bij Guigla Katsarava en David Lively.
In 2017 werd Sofja Gülbadamova benoemd tot artistiek directeur van het Internationale Brahms Festival in Mürzzuschlag in Oostenrijk.
Sofja Gülbadamova, a prizewinner in many international competitions in the USA, Spain, France, Germany, and Russia, won first prizes at two prestigious piano competitions in France in 2008. At the Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna (2010), she was awarded the Grand Prix. A few months later, she won the 2nd prize at the International Piano Competition “André Dumortier” in Belgium.
Sofja Gülbadamova has dedicated herself to the work of the Hungarian composer Ernst von Dohnányi for many years.
In 2019, Sofja Gülbadamova’s CDs “Humoresques,” 2020 “Hungarian Melody,” and “Idylle,” as well as sonatas for piano and violin by Johannes Brahms recorded with the violinist Denis Goldfeld (2021).

Sofja Gülbadamova’s recent concerts include performances at the International House of Music in Moscow and at the Great Hall in St. Petersburg Philharmony (Russia), at the De Geerhallen in Norrköping and Crusellhallen in Linköping (Sweden), at the Paderewski Hall in Lausanne (Switzerland), at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, at the Historic City Hall in Wuppertal, as well as at the Konzerthaus Berlin (Germany), and at the Teatro Colón in Bogota (Colombia). She has also appeared at numerous festivals across Europe and abraod. Sofja Gülbadamova’s highly praised recitals at one of the “Top ten” piano festivals in Europe, “Rarities of Piano Music” in Husum (Germany), were featured in the CD from the 2012 edition of the festival, published by the Danish label Danacord, which was selected as Editor’s Choice in the November 2013 issue of GRAMOPHONE.
Sofja was born in Moscow, where she began her musical studies at the Gnessins Special Music School. She continued her studies at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in the class of James Tocco, at the Paris Conservatory with Jacques Rouvier, as well as at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Guigla Katsarava and David Lively.
In 2017, Sofja Gülbadamova was appointed the artistic director of the International Brahms Festival in Mürzzuschlag (Austria).
