Tarik Kaan Alkan werd geboren in Istanbul op 30 april 2006. In 2014 begon hij met studeren aan het MSGSÜ (State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University) in Istanbul, Turkije.
In 2016 won hij de eerste prijs op het Internationaal Pera Pianoconcours en in datzelfde jaar won hij ook de Grote Prijs in II. International Young Talents Piano Competition in Istanbul, Turkije en de eerste prijs in de International Piano Competition “Piano Talents” die werd gehouden in Milaan, Italië. In 2017 won hij de eerste prijs in de Competiton by Yamaha Music Fundation of Europe Branch Turkey. In 2018 won hij de eerste prijs in Memorijal Jurica Murai-Murai Grand Prix Competition in zijn categorie in Varazdin, Kroatië.
In 2017 volgde Tarik Kaan masterclasses bij professor Markus Becker aan de Mozarteum Universiteit in Salzburg, Oostenrijk. Dankzij zijn succes in de klas trad hij op in Stiftung Mozarteum.
In 2019 trad hij, dankzij het winnen van de eerste prijs in de Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, op in Carnegie Hall tijdens de prijsuitreiking. In hetzelfde jaar won hij de eerste prijs en een speciale prijs (USA Hotchkiss School Education Scholarship) die slechts aan 2 pianisten in alle categorieën wordt gegeven in de Maria Herrero International Piano Competition, in Granada, Spanje.
Hij trad op in tal van pianorecitals. Ook begon hij op 11-jarige leeftijd met het uitvoeren van zijn eigen pianorecitals. In februari 2020 bracht hij zijn eerste album “From Heart to Notes” uit, bestaande uit zijn eigen composities. In september 2020 bracht hij zijn tweede compositiealbum uit, genaamd “Life Journey”. In maart 2021 publiceerde hij zijn derde album, genaamd “Brahms: 7 Fantasien, Op. 116”.
Hij vervolgt zijn middelbare schoolopleiding aan de Musica Mundi School bij Hagit Hassid Kerbel in Waterloo, België.
