    Thaïs werd geboren in 2003 en groeide op in een muzikale familie. Op 4 jarige leeftijd begon ze cello te spelen. Tussen 2010 en 2012 studeerde ze bij Claudine Steenackers. Van 2012 tot 2014 studeerde ze bij Lucia Swarts aan het Conservatorium van Den Haag in de richting Jong Talent. Tussen 2014 en 2018 studeerde ze privé bij Justus Grimm en was ze terzelfder tijd leerlinge aan de Kunsthumaniora te Brussel. Sinds 2018 is Thaïs leerlinge op de prestigieuze Musica Mundi School te Waterloo. Ze heeft sindsdien les met Aleksandr Khramouchin, Vladimir Perlin en Jerôme Pernoo. In October 2021, begon Thaïs haar Bachelor’s Degree metProfessor Gustav Rivinius aan de Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken, Germany.

    Thaïs heeft ook verschillende internationale prijzen gewonnen , waaronder de 1ste prijs in de Internaionale Edmond Baert Competitie van 2017, de 2de prijs  in de Rotary Breughel competitie van 2018, de 2de prijs in
    de internationale Flame competition van 2019, tde derde prijs in de internationale competitie Triomphe de l’Art  in 2021.

    In maart 2022 was ze geselecteerd om België te vertegenwoordigen in de Eurovision Competition
    for Young Musicians 2022.

    Ze speelt op een instrument dat in 2015 speciaal voor haar gemaakt werd  door Thomas Bertrand.


    Thaïs was born in 2003 and grew up in a musical family. At 4 years old she began to study the cello. Between 2010 and 2012 she studied with Claudine Steenackers. From 2012 until 2014 she studied with Lucia Swarts at the Conservatory of The Hague in the direction of Young Talent.Between 2014 and 2018 she has been studying privately with Justus Grimm. At the same time she was a student at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels. Since 2018 Thaïs has been a student at the prestigious Musica Mundi School in Waterloo. She has since been teaching with Aleksandr Khramouchin, Vladimir Perlin and Jerôme Pernoo.  In October 2021, Thaïs started her Bachelor’s Degree with Professor Gustav Rivinius at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken, Germany

    Thaïs is also the winner of several international prizes, including the first prize in the Edmond Baert international competition in 2017, the second prize in the Rotary Breughel competition in 2018, the second prize in
    the international Flame competition in 2019, the third prize in the Triomphe de l’Art international competition in 2021 and in March 2022, she was selected to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Competition
    for Young Musicians 2022.

    She plays an instrument that was specially made for her in 2015 by Thomas Bertrand.
