Tosca Opdam won de prestigieuze Oskar Back Violin Competition in het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Dat leidde tot talloze optredens als soliste en kamermusicus waaronder uitverkochte solorecitals in het Concertgebouw en Carnegie Hall. Haar optredens brachten haar door heel Europa, de VS, Zuid-Amerika, Canada en Azië. Als soliste werkte Tosca samen met orkesten als het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, de Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen en de Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz. Ze werkte samen met dirigenten als Marc Albrecht, Annedore Neufeld, Matthew Rowe en Clark Rundell.
Haar optreden tijdens het Bevrijdingsconcert op de Amstel, in aanwezigheid van koning Willem-Alexander en koningin Maxima, werd live uitgezonden op de Nederlandse nationale televisie. Andere uitzendingen omvatten optredens op NPO Radio 4, WQXR New York, Podium Witteman TV Nederland, NDR Duitsland, RaiRadio3 Italië en anderen. Ze werden lovend door critici ontvangen.
Meer lovende kritieken volgden voor haar opnames van het vioolconcert van Robin de Raaff met NedPho en Marc Albrecht en voor de opname van het vioolconcert van de Amerikaanse componist Todd Maso. De opname werd genoemd in een artikel in The Strad en in Pizzicato, ‘De Nederlandse soliste Tosca Opdam excelleert in haar technische beheersing van deze muziek op een manier die de levendige en stuwende aard van het werk levendig vormgeeft’.
Als kamermusicus en soliste trad Tosca op bij het Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, het Delft Chamber Music Festival, het Storioni Festival, het João Pessoa International Music Festival in Brazilië, het Siletz Bay Music Festival in Oregon en het Hong Kong Generation Next Music Festival.
In 2023 richtte Tosca Opdam het Syros International Music Festival op in Griekenland waarvan ze artistiek directeur is.
Tosca behaalde haar Master of Music-diploma aan de Juilliard School. Haar docenten waren onder andere Catherine Cho, Patty Kopec en Sylvia Rosenberg. Ze bespeelt een zeldzame Matteo Goffriller-viool uit 1700, Italië, die haar genereus is uitgeleend door een privéverzamelaar, en een Nikolai Kittel-strijkstok die is uitgeleend door de NMF Foundation.
Het seizoen 2024/25 omvat een solo-optreden in Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium met Jonge Strijkers Nederland, evenals een uitvoering in New York van het vioolconcert van F. Martin met het NYRO-orkest en recitals in de VS en Europa waaronder op het Arte Amanti-festival in België en het Syros International Music Festival in Griekenland.
Tosca Opdam won the prestigious Oskar Back Violin Competition at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, leading to numerous engagements as both a soloist and chamber musician, including sold-out solo recitals at the Concertgebouw and Carnegie Hall. Her performances have taken her across Europe, the US, South America, Canada, and Asia.
As a soloist, Tosca has collaborated with orchestras such as the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, and the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz. She has worked with renowned conductors including Marc Albrecht, Annedore Neufeld, Matthew Rowe, and Clark Rundell.
Her performance at the Liberation Day Concert on the Amstel River, attended by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, was broadcast live on Dutch national television. Other broadcast performances include appearances on NPO Radio 4, WQXR (New York), Podium Witteman TV (Netherlands), NDR Germany, RaiRadio3 Italy, and more, receiving critical acclaim.
Tosca has also received praise for her recordings, including her interpretation of the violin concerto by Robin de Raaff with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Marc Albrecht, and for the recording of the violin concerto by US composer Todd Mason. The Strad and Pizzicato both featured the latter, with Pizzicato noting: “Dutch soloist Tosca Opdam excels in her technical mastery of this music in a way that vividly shapes the lively and driving nature of the work.”
As a chamber musician and recitalist, Tosca has performed at renowned festivals including the Grachtenfestival (Amsterdam), the Delft Chamber Music Festival, the Storioni Festival, the João Pessoa International Music Festival in Brazil, the Siletz Bay Music Festival (Oregon), and the Hong Kong Generation Next Music Festival. In 2023, she founded the Syros International Music Festival in Greece, where she serves as artistic director.
Tosca earned her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School, studying with Catherine Cho, Patty Kopec, and Sylvia Rosenberg. She plays a rare Matteo Goffriller violin from 1700, generously on loan from a private collector, and a Nikolai Kittel bow, which is on loan from the NMF Foundation.

Martin Violin Concerto with the NYRO Orchestra, and recitals in the US and Europe, including the Arte Amanti festival in Belgium and the Syros International Music Festival in Greece.
