Yelin Wangzhang begint met piano spelen op 6-jarige leeftijd. Ze volgde eerst les bij Lieve Vander Plaetsen.
In 2016 werd Yelin 2de laureate van de Vlamo wedstrijd voor piano en in 2017 werd ze gekozen om het Lichtfestival in Gent te openen. In 2018 werd ze samen met Floor Hamerlminck Laureaat van de Vlamo wedstrijd voor kamermuziek.
Vanaf 2019 volgt ze les bij Catharina Leynse en nam ze ook deel aan het TV programma “Thomas speelt het hard”. Ze behaalt de speciale prijs en kon hierdoor met het Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra spelen in de Bijloke. Ze werd dat jaar ook 1ste laureaat in de Vlamo wedstrijd voor piano .In 2020 krijgt ze als 2de Laureaat-finalist bij de Cantabile Wedstrijd concerten en een opname als beloning.
In 2021 werd ze finaliste in de Epta wedstrijd en dit jaar zit ze in de finale van de Cantabile en Steinway competitie die in maart doorgaat in Bozar.
Ze volgde masterclasse bij Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Joop Celis,Jan Vermeulen e.a.
Yelin volgt humane wetenschappen in het 3de middelbaar ASO.

Yelin Wangzhang starts playing the piano at the age of 6. She first took lessons with Lieve Vander Plaetsen.
In 2016 Yelin became 2nd laureate of the Vlamo competition for piano and in 2017 she was chosen to open the Light Festival in Ghent. In 2018 she became Laureate of the Vlamo competition for chamber music together with Floor Hamerlminck.
From 2019 she has been taking lessons with Catharina Leynse and she also took part in the TV program “Thomas Speel het Hard”. She received the special prize and was therefore able to play with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra in the Bijloke. That year she also became 1st laureate in the Vlamo competition for piano. In 2020 she will receive as 2nd laureate finalist at the Cantabile Competition concerts and a recording as a reward.
In 2021 she became a finalist in the Epta competition and this year she is in the final of the Cantabile and Steinway competition, which will take place in Bozar in March.
She attended masterclasses with Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Joop Celis, Jan Vermeulen and others.
Yelin follows human sciences in the 3rd secondary ASO.
